Goals
- Become a successful musician
- Avoid whatever is chasing her
- Get rich enough for therapy
Background
Julianna Blossomtree can't tell you much about her childhood. Her parents are a blur, even the members of her tribe of otaku are fuzzy sometimes. In the end, she remembers two things: the old Matrix and her best friend, Laura. When the second Crash brought this halcyon era to an end, Julie was on 'meat-watch', and watched both of those things die catastrophically simultaneously.
In the ensuing turmoil, Julianna's home city of Montreal was torn apart as Cross Applied Technologies was torn apart by Ares attacks. Slipping into the cracks, Julianna Blossomtree became just another SINless kid. Swept up in the burgeoning Neo-Anarchist movement, Julie was lucky enough to find employment with them as a child coder, forgetting most of her dangerous past. Naturally gifted as most otaku were, Julie eventually found success as a Neo-A operative, working to infiltrate the Montreal music scene.
Miss Blossomtree's new normal was shattered when she emerged, a traumatic process that dredged up some serious bad vibes. Connected once again to the resonance, she found it terrifyingly different, tainted forever by the loss she faced. Jumping at shadows in the Matrix, and set upon by a inescapable sense of dread, Julianna left Montreal, losing most contact with her friends in the movement. Trying to lose herself in the center of the shadow community and escape the attention of the "demons" chasing her, she took to Seattle, finding safe haven with a local group of fellow neo-anarchists.
Narrative Significant Qualities
Positive
Otaku to Technomancer - The Woman From Another Place has a long past on the Matrix, and alludes often to experiences she's had in the past with its 'children' and the 'dark electricity'.
Instinctive Hack - She, as a nearly lifelong hacker, is also skilled at operating online under pressure.
Better on the Net (Sleaze) - Elsewhere focuses her matrix efforts on stealth, preferring to evade the attention that comes with less subtle approaches.
Negative
Addiction (Mild, Psyche). Wired User - The Woman From Another Place relies on Psyche to 'ride the lightning', and it seriously benefits her to be using it as often as possible.
Dependent (Nuisance) - Elsewhere is responsible for LAURA, an AI that reflects the personality of one of her old otaku friends.
Social Stress - She finds reference to the old Wired Matrix quite traumatic, associated as it is with both the best and worst experiences she can remember.

Matrix Search Table
Threshold | Result |
---|---|
1 | The Woman From Another Place is supposed to be a hacker, but she doesn't appear to have left much of a trace. |
3 | When considering a wider view, it comes into view that she has indeed left somewhat of a trail, just outside of Seattle. It becomes clear at this point that she's not any ordinary decker, as she often appears alongside icons very similar to hers. |
6 | Yup, gotta be a techno. |
Shadow Community Table
Threshold | Result |
---|---|
1 | The Woman From Another Place, also known as Elsewhere, is a hacker, and seemingly new in town. |
3 | Elsewhere is likely a techno, formerly from Montreal, and appears to suffer from some anxieties regarding her matrix use and the future of the Sixth World. |
