Overview
When Asuna Inoue's mother died, her father (Yuske Inoue) accepted a transfer to Seattle. Her father is a supervisor level MITSUHAMA COMPUTER TECHNOLOGIES wageslave, and semi-active decker. Asuna's mother was a Shinto priestess/Enchanter and she provides her father (and sufficiently close friends) with Omamori.
Background
Yuske Inoue is sufficiently wealthy, and financially active enough, to own a property on the northern outskirts of Everett that is about 1 hectare. On the property is a small house, a Shinto Shrine (Force 6 Magical Lodge 'owned' by Antidrek) and rock garden but the majority of the property is left as a mini-forest. They have lived there so long the Inoue enclave has become attuned to Shinto magic, and every other day Asuna manages to find a small amount of reagent, which she generally sells along with Charms to trusted friends.
Not long after they arrived in Seattle, Antidrek snuck onto their property hoping to survive after the loss of his mother; he and Asuna felt an immediate attraction for each other and became the closest of childhood friends, with that friendship evolving into much more as they both matured. At the request of Asuna, Yuske allowed Antidrek to be a squatter in the Shrine as he showed immense interest in the Shinto faith - and everything else to do with Asuna. It has now reached the point where Yuske has given Antidrek permanent squatters rights to the Shrine, and both he and Asuna generally sleep in there.
