Summary

Background

Sometimes, the runs are just... normal. Criminals doing criminal things - and sometimes those criminals get caught. And then evidence needs to go away before THEY do.

The Meet

The team meets Silas Johnson at a noodle stand in the Puyallup city zone outside a hab spot. The team arrives by their various means and, after giving Huntress a little shit for arriving to a meet in FBA, Silas explains that a client of his was nabbed by KE last night after a situation went sideways. The only saving grace is that it's a KE station in Hell's Kitchen. Their job is to recover the ares predator V that is currently in the evidence lockup. How they do that is more or less entirely up to them, but he wants the gun recovered from evidence so KE has nothing on his client.

The Plan

  • Steal the gun, damage other evidence so it's not obvious that the gun was the target of the theft.
  • use Chad to get into the facility, create a distraction, and steal the gun back in the chaos
  • Use some palming to swap a fake Ares Pred V in place of the real one

Discovered Information:

  • Chad Brent is stationed in Hell's Kitchen at the moment.
  • This is absolutely the "You Done Fucked Up" assignment post
  • Chad's WeFeed paints him at a Bar in Carbonado where most of the Hell's Kitchen cops go in their off hours
  • One of the Chulos murdered his spouse after an argument, but because it was a domestic issue, it was super "public" and the chulo got arrested.

The Run

  • The team heads to Carbonado to check in with Chad Brent about how to see about getting evidence from the locker.
  • NCI and Rurosha goes to the bar, orders the house special, and NCI begins to get hammered from a shot.
  • Or@cle tries to Puppeteer Chad's commlink, and once that fails, hacks it for a mark before looking for details on the precinct.
  • Or@cle pulls the gps data of the precinct from Chad's commlink
  • At the precinct, Or@cle, she moves into the R4 Host of the station. Rating 4 - A5 S4 D6 F7. She finds a case file with the gun's ID number attached to it.
  • Huntress does some long distance scouting and finds that there are a little under ten KE officers there
  • The team is unable to convince Chad to walk them into the precinct, and go to their Plan B (Stealth)
  • Oracle gets the cameras under their control and deactivates them.
  • Huntress sneaks into the KE office, while Rurosha and NCI set up to play distraction.
  • NCI gets spotted, but uses that to best effect, creating a distraction for Huntress and Oracle getting into and out of the station

Aftermath

The runners succeed in swapping the gun out for a different one, thus getting the J's client off the hook since the gun has none of his fingerprints on it, nor is associated with his PAN.

Rewards

  • Medium - 13 RVP
  • 5 Karma (5 RVP)
  • 10,000 Nuyen (5 RVP)
  • 6 CDP (3 RVP)
  • 2 CDP Run Guarantee

All: Can take Chad Brent as a Contact at 2/2 for 3 RVP
