Summary

Gigs gets Spinrad to join in on the ghoul support.

Background

See Who Can Say No To This Face, Part 1 for the overall goal. Spinrad is a AA subsidiary of SpinGlobal that Gigabite believes can invest in something wild enough like her operation.

The Meet

Miles, the logistics head of the Crab Cake Operation is not willing to believe that Gigabite's aiming for Spinrad, but asks if she even has a way to talk to the guy. She does. Knowing a guy she did a couple of jobs for, she recalls Diogo da Silva and asks him to arrange a meeting.

The Run

On their way from Puyallup to the meet, Gigs gets shot out of the sky and immediately takes traumatic damage, only stabilized by nanites injecting into her automatically. Eidolon has better cover behind his pick-up truck but that one gets assault cannon'd to hell as well. Fiendest panic calls Gigabite informing her that the cops have been called to her location. The person targeting them taunts them via comms and calls KE on them, apparently some kind of corrupt hit squad. With two broken legs and teetering on death's door, Gigs is in no state to run and both of their vehicles are broken. Eidolon and Gigabite shuffle into one of the abandoned buildings nearby and Eidolon buries her under some rubble as KE searches the buildings. The two hold their breath, avoiding notice and managing to fool the hasty search.

With the two putting their heads together, they recall an OU entry point and with Diogo's aid, manage to get a ride out into a safehouse - Corpseman's Necrodancer Crypt rave club. Gigs stays in the back rooms, recovering with the power of her astounding delta-grade symbiotes and Doctor O+'s bedside manner while Eidolon retreats elsewhere, away from hungry ghouls. Two days later, they meet Diogo and get to meet the man in charge of Spinrad's operations in most of Seattle - Chad Braddington.

As a fellow giant, Gigs and Chad hit it off fast and even the guards Gigabite had in the party bus on the way there appreciate her throwing down with the corporate etiquette of being wicked and radical. Being more genuine, however, Chad and Gigs begin negotiations in earnest. Gigabite's arguments hinge on them hating Aztechnology, Ares and vampires more than they hate ghouls. By breaking the monopoly Ah-Tabai Consumer Goods has on the crab cake recipe, they'll be weakening Tamanous, Aztechnology and also showing UCAS and Ares that they don't just get to wrangle things at leisure. She also points out at the political leverage this can give SpinGlobal if used properly, despite the Saudi-Arabia connections they have from Global Sandstorm's side. Chad is hesitant, so Gigs instead offers to get in touch with the SpinGlobal representative herself and take her request up the chain so he doesn't have to take the blame himself. A vast supply of security awares that works for basic food and housing is a hell of a deal, not to mention a good PR stunt for increased publicity after SpinGlobal's previous involuntary human experimentation.

Chad is convinced after thorough social finagling and offers to throw his lot in, even if he's just a Spinrad executive.

Aftermath

The Ghoul Liberation League is requested to start wearing all black trenchcoats as their uniforms - this is SpinRad's demand in order to provide their support. In exchange for something half of the members were doing already, the GLL gets a hefty infusion of resources from a AA corporation on top of Evo. Miles is in critical condition back at the logistics center. He went looking for Gigs, got ambushed and is now out of the fight. The ghouls are panicking and threatening to leave under the imminent threat of an attack, but Gigabite manages to use her public speaker's skills to rouse them into a defensive Braveheart frenzy.

Game Quotes

Gigabite's AAR

Well will ya look at that. I achieve the impossible again! Sure, it's getting scarier and scarier as things go, but I'm tangling with big-ass corporations now! I'm arranging deals, I'm making connections, I'm making a difference! Tamir Grey was right, it might have strings attached and it might be a damn mess, but damn if it doesn't feel good to create! To make something new! To hell with all that violence the 162s have always preached, it never worked for anything more than barely scraping by! Peace is the goal, so long as ya know how to do it. I'll carry Grey's spirit with me all the way to a brighter future.
