Summary
Fennec decide to betray the trust given by the N-51 in a flamboyant way...And get rid of a "rival".
Background
Fennec worked a few time for the N-51 and got acquainted with Shy and Babylon, this lead to weird shenanigan that only the matrix fox goddess truly understand. During one of the DGSE session of probing the rank and files for information, Fennec decide to take her chance and end up having an appointment at the Elliot's the fancy French Restaurant of Seattle.
The Meet
At the Elliot's Fennec is guided to a one of the more runners friendly room where a men in FBA is sitting at a table, she quickly recognize the Red Scorpion, an agent of the DGSE that seemed to be known by the older veteran of the N-51 and that was one of the active hound on Shy's trail when she left the country after "killing" Amrei.
Without any real hesitation, Fennec state that she is ready to give information about the N-51 to the DGSE, more than that she could even give them Shy on a silver platter, lure her into an ambush, the DGSE would be able to strike her down and that in itself would be an huge blow to the Task Force. In exchange she ask that the DGSE investigate the case of Iron and her safety should be assured during the raid, which the Red Scorpion accept not really aware of who that Iron is.
The Rendez Vous
The detail set, Fennec leave the Elliot's and quickly call Babylon and arguing that they need to talk about the whole relationship thing between her, Fennec and Shy, ask for a meeting in a safehouse away from everything as the Adept is highly seeked out by SK. When Fennec get the adress she immediately forwards it to the Red Scorpion who quickly put together some teams of PMC and Clandestine Operative to circle the location and make sure no one would escape their trap.
Babylon on her end, see no real issue with setting up the meeting and Shy while wary of what could be said at the meeting doesn't really want to miss it, as such everyone settle to meet in the evening, yet the Dryad show early and observe the surrounding of the meeting ground, wary that people might be on Shy's trail and indeed she see that a bunch of peoples are set up around the place and near the escape tunnel of the safehouse. She warn Shy, who subsequently call for her old team in case things get hot and she make her way to the place. Fennec show up wearing fashion armor, pretending to ignore everything about the ambush.
Shy eventually made it to the safehouse and as she was about to enter, the signal of the attack was given and she was struck down by a sniper round. She was quickly dragged inside and patched up by Babylon as Etrius lead and is team exchanged fire to protect the group. Fennec while still informing the DGSE was also providing the usual firewall and other matrix trick for everyone as quickly the team set up for the escape tunnel to break the encirclement. In the tunnel the fighting got dirty as the DGSE goons were more inclined to make sure Shy got killed than to hold their part of the deal and make sure Fennec survives as well. Grenades are tossed in the enclosed space but thankfully Babylon and Shy are tough runners and they dispatch the experienced merc, while Etrius and his crew manage to pursue the breakthrough up to the streets.
Yet, the team wasn't out of the meatgrinder, since the meeting was taking place in a secluded place in the middle of an E zone, the DGSE authorised an Avenging Angel strike. The blast nearly knocked down Fennec and put a few members of Etrius's team on their ass, worst as they try to hide into a building they run head to head with the Red Scorpion and the Red Husk a PTT who ambushed Babylon at first chance once she turned down the proposal of surrender offered by the Red Scorpion after all he was only there to kill N-51 members not Babylon and Fennec.
However Fennec took the offer and ran away from the fight as Shy came to blow with the Red Scorpion and the fighting grew even more fierce. The adept and the agent decided to settle their score with blades but Shy quickly got overpowered, thankfully Babylon turned the Red Husk into a turtle and started to Recklessly cast several barriers around the Red Scorpion to give enough room to the team to run away as eventually the N-51 used their new found authorisation due to their mercenary status to send a rescue.
Aftermath
Every runners ended up safe and sound, somewhere, Babylon and Shy got thoroughly debriefed by Commander and Fennec was pointed out as a suspect. Yet while Commander and Babylon were measured in those claim, Shy was outright convinced that she was ratted out.
Meanwhile, Fennec received a call from the Red Scorpion who was pretty disappointed, still the matrix fox convinced him that she could still be of use to hit Shy, eventually, she meet Colonel Berger who accept her offer to carry on helping getting rid of the adept and hindering the N-51, though she get a cranial bomb as the DGSE can't really afford to have loose end.
