Summary
The runners have the task of protecting Mr. Cromwell and his daughter (Sophia O'Connor). Unfortunately, Sophia does not follow the planned course of action and in a disco in Touristville they are attacked by hired Vory ex-soldiers.
Background
During his research on enemy within, Mr. Cromwell gets dangerously close to a high-ranking traitor in Hamburg. Due to some of Mr. Cromwell's activities, the traitor panics and hires forces through the Vory in Hamburg to take out Mr. Cromwell in Seattle. Since Sophia comes to visit Mr. Cromwell unannounced and he wants to show an ideal world in order not to get into trouble with his wife (Máire (Mary) O'Connor), who would immediately take him back home, Mr. Cromwell decides to hire Runer for her protection. Unfortunately, the usual protection team is on their well-deserved summer vacation.
The Meet
The Runners arrive at the Harrington Hotel and are taken to Mr. Cromwell by Alexis (TT camouflages Gigabites in the stairwell so she doesn't miss any attention). Mr. Cromwell explains the situation and hires the runners after a hard negotiation with the team for 26.000 Nuyen per head to protect him and his daughter the next day. TT still checks the situation on the spot with a spell but there are no bad thoughts against Mr. Cromwell in the hotel.
The Plan
Nobel gets another Brief Case Shield and TT wakes up in the middle of the night to look for a Murder Armor which leads to a number suppression from Ace Powers. Unfortunately TT can only pick up her Murder Armro after the run.
The Run
The Runners, together with Mr. Cromwell, pick up Sophia at the airport. It is immediately clear that she has no desire for the planned procedure. Nevertheless, they all drive to the underground bakery to have breakfast. The Runners have a little trouble keeping a troll in full body armor from getting near Mr. Cromwell, but it turns out he is just a Runner hired by Saul Goodman. The day continues and everyone sets off to visit the Digital Art Now museum downtown. While Noble is outside guarding the car and missing the bizarre Vory designs watching him and the car, the Runners inside are busy trying to stop a young man from asking for Sophia's number. Afterwards, they continue on to lunch which is taken at a Mexican restaurant downtown. Gigabite frightens a rose seller so much that she stands there with a bouquet of roses and the rose seller searches the distance. The event planned afterwards has to be cancelled because Sophia now wants to play laser tag in Tacoma. Since Mr. Cromwell has obvious problems to refuse his daughter a wish, they all go to the laser market. Sophie insists that the Runners play laser tag with her team and thanks to their experience they are so successful that TT exploits the laser tag show in social media. A crowd gathers in front of the building but everyone manages to leave. They are having dinner at Tom's Fish and Stake restaurant in Renton. The team notices a strange tattooed man (Vory Späher) walking up and down outside the restaurant and keeps looking in their direction. Noble goes outside to confront the man but when he looks back he has disappeared. Sophia now wants to party and head to a cool new club called Boooom Stick in Renton. However, the area of the club is very unsafe. Together, the Runners are able to convince her to go to Touristville, because Gigabite could arrange a gig for her bath there. The Runners arrive at the club in Touristville and Gig's band and TT put on a huge show until the patrons start to collapse because tear gas is introduced into the ventilation. At the same time TT's surveillance spell goes off and the Runners are confronted with two teams of Vory soldiers. With some effort the Runners manage to overwhelm the Vory. Gigs is able to incite the crowd against them and incapacitate one of their leaders with a genital bite. When she collapses under the fire, she buries the leader under her. Mr. Cromwell is injured in the fray and the team rushes to get him into the vehicle. However, they are met by a sniper outside the club who delivers another hit to Mr. Cromwell. They put him in the Valkyrie module of Gigabite's motorcycle and hurry to the nearest hospital.
Aftermath
Mr. Cromwell is rescued in the hospital but his wife gets wind of the matter and makes a major fuss at his boss Katrin Morgentau. The result is that Mr. Cromwell is on vacation in Tír na nÓg for an indefinite period of time (if you ask his wife). Katrin is pissed off and personally takes over the investigation of the incident.
