Character Information
Summary
A Street Adept who offers his services to the highest bidder, Skimmer was raised on the streets, and found that a life of crime suited him. Prefers to act as a Bodyguard or Enforcer, as that is where his true talents lie.
Goals
Background
Chicago. Hard life, and hard streets, especially for a no-nothing bastard elf born in the slums and raised by criminals. But given time, effort, and carefully cultivated contacts, even someone as pathetic as me can find his way to the big time. And then screw it up, royally. Working for the Gambini crime syndicate was a dream come true for this little nobody, and once I was in, I did all that I could to keep the ball rolling. I eventually worked my way up to the Don's private security, based on my talents. See, I had an edge that other's didn't; a little trick that made me more... "adept" at the wetwork, if you know what I mean. Eventually I was tasked with protecting the Don's family, and by family, I mean the jewel of his eye, Dorothea. I still remember the first time our eyes met, and the sparks, they were a flying. I'm not sure who was really responsible for kicking things off, but we kept it discreet. At least until she started to show...
Now I'm in Seattle, trying to keep my head low and attached to my shoulders where it belongs. She kept me alive; that and the favors I had earned from the right people; but everything has a price. Now it's like I'm starting over, trying to establish myself in a world that is new and unfamiliar in some ways, and all to familiar in others. The contacts I once had are gone, the reputaion, useless. One day I might go back, but that day is not going to be anytime soon. For now, I still got skills, and anybody who's anybody will be quick to realize that I'm just the elf they're looking for.
Narrative Significant Events
Skimmer has since cleared his name with the Gambini Family, reclaimed his lost love, married her and is the father of a newborn daughter, Elizabeth Anne Strauss. He continues to run the shadows, but has acquired a day job working for Saint Nick, a jolly old fellow who loves all the good little boys and girls. The original Chaos that dominated his being has been replaced by Christian Theurgy, and his mentor and spiritual advisor Nameless, continues to provide guidance for the young elf. Skimmer openly enjoys all things holiday oriented, and is a firm believer that Pump King Jack is the true spirit of Halloween, and will defend him against non-believers at all cost. Skimmer is an easy going, hard shooting, dodgy little elf, who will treat every runner as a friend until they prove themselves unworthy of the title. he will sacrifice himself for what he deems the greater good, knowing that it just takes one person to make a difference.

An attractive elvish gentleman, dressed for success in what is clearly a pricey combination of clothing. One might suspect that he is a corporate wage slave for one of the big ten, or even a potential Mr. Johnson, but this facade is far from the truth.
