Summary

Old faces return to the shadows and new ones make their appearance to stop a suspicious play and save the day!

Background

An up and coming director stumbles upon an old urban legend of the 5th world hoping to bring it to light. Unaware of the dark presence and magic lingering within with potential connections to things beyond.

The Meet

Meeting at a low key fueling station in Southern Bellevue, the mysterious Johnson addressed the runners stating they received an anonymous tip a play happening in Tacoma may pertain to a portion of history that delved into dark magic and wants the runners to look over it and find out what may be behind it all. Fearful of what may happen to the innocent if failed. Them managing to secure the three of them positions in the performance/play as cover. Fluster with no problem at all managing to negotiate far almost double the pay for so little information and only a basic degree of a cover. The runners with little else to ask bid the Johnson farewell as she provided them a form of transportation in the form of a nicely decorated GMC Phoenix for those that lacked a vehicle. Now with the intel in hand they set out to figure out what was going on, hopefully before it became too late.

The Plan

Arriving at the building in question Physic immediately began astral perceiving to find any strange magical phenomena or other magical signatures that may prove problematic. Finding a mediocre force ward but several well disguised archaic glyphs hidden on the floor around the corners of the building. Using their ability with aid from their spirits on the astral, Psychic was able to see multiple signatures coming from within the building. Approximately 8 in total. An adept and 2 magicians being the only ones that had magical prowess. Turning away from this however Psychic noticed multiple glyphs laid throughout the perimeter well hidden on the physical and astral with concealment and several items covering them. Though with some effort the glyphs were disabled and the runners headed inside to get themselves acquainted with their fellow performers. Two runners acting as security guards and 5 actors standing atop the stage. A very enthusiastic yet... likely not all there director guiding them all. As they approached the director addressed them with open arms stating they were perfect for the roles of a knight and demon. After informing the director type casting was a thing, Fluster was made into the queen. The play went on but with Psychic choosing to remain in the back and simply observe. Broken Hand fighting who turned out to be another adept who served in the UCAS military and didn't have to hold back against. Needing to alter the tactics to appear more thematic for the director but the fighting was authentic. Meanwhile Fluster gave the performance of a lifetime as the queen. After learning more of the script they saw some suspicious moments that may allow a cast member to cause havoc, the runners asked to see some of the props and other such items to see if any would cause problems. They managed to discover a power foci in the dressing room of a notable level of force. Plus after stealthfully looking underneath a display case found a skull that belonged to a strain one infected. All of them added for the sake of authenticity. Though with a degree of competence in themselves the runners let the day pass and readied themselves for a show to remember.

The Run

The night of the show commenced and true to their rehearsals the runners readied themselves for what may happen. And events did indeed happen. Upon the mention of the villainesses name, one of the performers looked confused as their wards were seemingly dispelled. However, theis did not discourage them as their two shade spirits manifested. And with this the combat commenced. Physic's spirits causing the two wraiths to combat each other, her spirits also combatting the mage and spirits all the while. Meanwhile Fluster kept the crowd calm, making them believe this was part of the performance. And with one swift drop kick to the chest the mage was destroyed as his attempts were foiled. Fluster rapidly calling for a curtain call.

Aftermath

After a brief explanation to Knight Errant the run was amicably resolved. Fluster giving her number to the king she had been working alongside. And Broken=Hand securing a coffee with the Marine Adept. With all said and done the runners went about their ways.
