Overview

The astrally aware wandering through Puyallup might notice an elf-like ashen figure skulking about the district's barrens and lava flows. The astrally unaware might hear rumors about the ghost from the eruption of Mount Helen who'll make deals to protect your turf. Either way, this is Ashwalker, a wild fire spirit that's adopted a rather mercenary approach to dealing with metahumanity. The story he tells is that he was once a mortal who perished in the eruption, but claims the experience robbed him of most memories of his former life. Or at least that's the story he's telling this decade.

Growing as a spirit is all but impossible without "borrowing" from metahumans, so Ashwalker has made a habit of regularly dealing with mortals. In exchange for sharing a few memories, or letting him borrow some passion, or whatever ephemeral energy he needs, Ashwalker is willing to do most things that won't lead to his disruption.

GM Notes

• When dealing with mortals, he prefers to avoid materializing when unnecessary and relies mostly on manifesting. Too many close calls with jumpy metahumans opening fire.
• Ashwalker is very cagey about his personal business, outside of the constructed backstory he presents. If questioned about why he's so hungry for karma, the most he'll ever say is that he's working on a personal project.
• Ashwalker is extremely unlikely to accept any payment besides karma, mortal money is useless to him.

Aspects Description

Burning One	Torching goons, navigating lava fields, pulling your hoop out of a burning building. If fire or extreme heat are involved, who better to call up than a fire spirit?
Spectral Lookout	Ashwalker already spends much of his free time snooping on the local mortals from the astral plane, so he's perfectly willing and capable to either do some spying or watch your back if you can afford to pay him.
Ghost of Puyallup	Ashwalker claims to have been "born" in Puyallup when Mount Rainer wrecked the district, he keeps an ear to the ground and operates at his best within his home turf.
Occult Networker	Ashwalker makes a habit of keeping tabs on the sprawl's free spirits and other magical entities.
