Background

Short Version

Haeru came to Seattle after escaping the Watada Rengo once she learned they had killed her father. While setting herself up as a prominent Shadowrunner, Haeru began dating Hinata Tanaka and the two have settled in together.

Long Version

Yui Nakamura, who would later become Haeru, was born on July 23rd, 2055 to Kaito Suzuki and Kiko Nakamura. Much to her parent's pleasure, Yui excelled in school, especially mathematics, and was frequently in the top of her class. While school was out, Yui, her parents, and her maternal grandparents would travel to Louisiana to visit relatives. During her later years in high school, Yui began doing compensated dates after accidentally overhearing her parents arguing about financial trouble. One night, on her way home from one such date, Yui walked into her home to find it ransacked. And then she found her father, shot multiple times, dead in the kitchen with a rifle in his arms. After repeated attempts to contact her mother at work, Yui eventually gave up. She never heard from her mother again. The police couldn't find any real clues on Yui's dad's murderer or her mother's disappearance.

While wracked with grief, Yui eventually realized she had Awakened. Briefly shocked out of her despair, Yui pulled herself together the best she could. Unsure what to do, Yui took on more compensated dates to get money. While on one such date with a strange, young man covered in tattoos, the man said he could offer Yui a better way to make money. Desperate for cash, Yui immediatley agreed. After that fateful meeting, Yui became Haeru, a Komon of the Watada Rengo who worked as a negotiator, channeling her Adept powers to further her persuasion. Despite her distaste of the Rengo's view on metahumans, Haeru worked hard and put in all of her effort to ensure a steady pay flow.

After discovering the Yakuza had murdered her father after he couldn't pay them, Haeru felt her entire world crashing down. She had been used by her father's murderers, by the people who forced her into the Yakuza, their own service. Haeru began her very dangerous, meticulous plan to flee the Japanese Imperial State. Haeru knew exactly where to go: Seattle, the heart of the Watada Rengo's enemy, the Shotozumi Rengo. Once she got off the plan, untailed and unharmed, Haeru let out a breath of relief. Now settled, Haeru decided to do what she was best at, but this time in a safer place. After spending three years working her way up Shadow society, pulling strings and occasionally her trusty taser. During this time, Haeru met her current boyfriend Hinata Tanaka at a club she frequented. Haeru found herself able to relax around Hinata, and their relationship evolved from there. Now, the two share an apartment in Ravenna. Neither mind the cramped quarters when they're together. Through hard work and honeyed words, Haeru became a seasoned Shadowrunner and was invited to the Shadowhaven.

Appearance

Haeru stands slightly shorter than average human height and has a fairly slim frame. She keeps her hair in a neat, straight bob cut that goes to her jaw. Though most of it is a dark brown, Haeru has a long stripe of pink and bleach blonde hair from the left side of her bangs and down. Her skin is fairly dark for someone who rarely goes out in the sun.

Clothing

For casual clothing, Haeru wears miniskirts, thigh high socks, and heavy coats, all of which are vibrant colors of varying color. At home, Haeru virtually never wears pants, usually using her boyfriend's shirts as "dresses". Neither of them mind. Haeru's running clothes are a black ballistic mask with a flower pattern stenciled on, a loose, flowing dress with billowing sleeves and a slit running from her left thigh and down, and forearm guards tucked beneath the sleeves of her dress.
