Trickle Down Economics
Maria owns King's Bounty, a bounty hunting agency based out of one of the less syndicate-controlled areas of Tacoma. Unfortunately, it's not always easy to support a business like that unless you're playing in the big leagues; to keep the power on, the agency has branched out into contracting freelancers for everything from debt collection to bodyguard work, functioning as a mostly legal job board for all sorts of professionals walking the edge of the Seattle shadows.
It wasn't an especially difficult jump from there to setting up street-level shadowrunners with prospective clients. The agency keeps a solid "minimal questions asked" policy to maintain plausible deniability - which means that Johnsons in need of particular skill sets can rest easy working through them as an intermediary. More recently, she's gotten an in to the ShadowHaven job board, adding a number of verified badasses to her stable of runners. All she asks for is a cut of the money and not ruining the agency's rep.
Maria is a CAS native that previously brought in a number of bounties on her own in the western areas of the nation. Once she brought in enough nooj to move, she set up shop in Seattle to retire from the stressful life of bringing in people for the price on their heads; only, it turns out that constantly taking calls to administrate everything involved is just as much of a headache. As a result, Maria is eternally busy. Expect her to be curt, blunt, and to the point in her briefings for runners. She's not mean, per se, but she doesn't have enough time in the day to waste with pleasantries and cordiality.
|Respect The Hustle||Business looks up right now, sure, but Maria has had to live through poverty and hard times before. She remembers all too well who and what it took to get out of there. Maria gets a +2 to networking and knowledge checks involving opportunities and business in the lower rungs of society.|
|Trickle Down Economics||Eventually, even the streets get the toys that the high and mighty have been playing around with. She's still got a few contacts from her days in the CAS that can help accelerate the process. +2 to gear acquisition for Restricted gear only.|
|The Pauper Gentry||You'll always find people that seek out influence and leadership positions. Even outside of those ivory towers, people are gonna try to get power over others any way they can, so it's best to know who's currently on top wherever you go. +2 to networking and knowledge checks about the movers and shakers of the poorer areas of Seattle.|
