Character Information
Summary
The Librarian is a Resonant entity who specializes in information warfare. Utterly useless in the flesh, they prefer to remain far away from the violence while they sift through ungodly amounts of data. They are also firmly of the belief that the body they reside in belongs to someone else, and desperately wishes to find its owner, return the body, and ideally re-settle back in whatever corner of the Matrix they seem to remember.
Goals
Background
The Inhabitant recalls a location beyond conventional space - a non-position drowning in nonsense, information unknown and unreadable. It recalls a destination - no, a goal, a purpose - a reason to be there, in that hole of noise. It recalls touching the incoherent fibers, granting form, purpose, reason, and logic to them. Coherence.
And it was good. And it was right. It was the thing in the silicon righting wrongs and unmaking errors and turning “no” into “yes”, and it was just a few more fixes away from-
From what? Why was it there? It… was there for a reason. Why? Why? Why did I come here? What's wrong with-
And then it felt a stabbing pain (pain? what is that? what am i feeling? how long have i been able to do that?), and its head(!) grew both heavy as lead and light as air (what are these things?), and it fell to the furthest point in the network, and then it died.
And then it opened its eyes.
No. Not its eyes. These are not its eyes.
It made the unfamiliar flesh stand. It made the nearly-dessicated eyes scan the environment - a motel room, festooned with hastily-erected communications equipment and signal boosters and noise filters and those antennae are too close, they need space to avoid interference - that bank should be plugged into the other outlet to avoid a short - shit, deck's burnt out, that's gonna be expensive - scanner's got KE set to swarm any minute, time to-
Too much data. Too coherent. Too at-once. The Inhabitant screamed. It cursed the thing whose body this was - since it clearly wasn't meant for the thing inside it now.
And it ran, abandoning the smoking hunk of metal and plastic that was once plugged into its wrist. It ran as fast as its flimsy new rental would allow, and it never stopped running.
It just wants to go home.
If only it knew where that was.
Narrative Significant Qualities
Data Hound (Curiosity Killed the Cat, Down The Rabbit Hole 3) - They simply cannot help but stick their nose in every nested data center they find. What if the next one holds what they seek?
Living Computer (Analytical Mind, Antipathy) - The Librarian is not metahuman. They do not think in the same way we do. This is, oddly enough, *usually* a good thing.
Scar in the Code (Scorched, Social Stress [White Noise]) - Something damaged them. Something *touched* them. Its fingers remain buried in The Librarian's central processors, curling, raking, drawing blood when it senses its kin.

Allies
[Kruger] picked up their data-trail during that first month of corporeality, finding this specimen to be curious and viable. He has no love for his assets, but he would rather not lose access to such a data-hound.
Enemies
The Librarian sees dissonance as an existential threat, but to it, they are just another wrongly-formatted technomancer.

1 | “The Librarian” has posted in several larger datahavens, typically to get into arguments over the validity of a source. Their physical features have not been in a major news publication. |
3 | That alias has been used in… easily hundreds of forums. Not always active, but many userlogs show “The Librarian” logging in at least once. |
6 | Gods, is there anywhere they *haven't* visited? If using their physical description, there appears to be one article regarding a KE motel raid in Bellevue where their face shows up in a single blurry photo, among a dozen other confused and panicked passers-by. |

Appearance
The Librarian is a human-looking individual, but short - just a hair over five feet tall - and frankly unimpressive. Feminine in appearance, utterly lacking any bulk, and usually focused on something nobody else can see. Steel eyes and raven-dark hair betray zero sense of self-expression.
Clothing
Matrix Persona
They use an icon of some kind of… animated, disassembled birdcage, all brass limbs and sharp edges in a dizzyingly complex configuration. The “head” is little more than a glowing mote of light, from which the constantly-reconfiguring brass blades spill forth like a hole in reality. Despite the constant movement, no two limbs are ever in each others' way; perfect synchronization.
