Overview

The Will of The Hammer is a free spirit, claiming to serve an entity called “The Forge of Days”, who it claims is a god of all creators, and smiths in particular. It owns a forge in Sophocles where they repair goods brought to them, and create custom weapons and foci for those who can pay. Enthusiastic and intense, it does everything with a manic energy, and It’s vessels always appear surrounded by a nimbus of fire.


Roleplaying tips

-The Will of the Hammer is an energetic and boisterous individual. They always speak loudly, and intensely, and in general shows very little chill. It does not understand subtlety in the slightest.

-While not evil, The Will of the Hammer is amoral to a certain degree, mostly concerned with creating things, and not with the implications of creation. If a known murderer asks it to make a powerful magical sword using toxic reagents, it would not think twice about doing it.

-The Will of the Hammer does try to take care of the people it possesses, only possessing willing individuals, and doing its best to avoid injury while its in control.

Aspect Description
CONFINED TO THE ASTRAL The Will of The Hammer is a possession spirit, and which can make contracting it’s services difficult. Contacting it requires either the astral messaging spell or visiting it in its forge. Asking it to perform and physical service requires you to provide a willing metahuman/metasapient vessel for it to possess, which can include yourself.
THE FIRE THAT MAKES While it can make a variety of goods, The Will of the Hammer excels in the creation of foci. +2 for availability rolls for foci.
AND UNMAKES Destruction is merely a step in the process of creation, and so it gets +2 dice to any roll involved in destroying something. It can also dispose of foci and other magical items, although it tends to recycle the materials to use in later projects.
FRIEND OF THE MUSES Despite being a task spirit, it knows a surprisingly large number of muses. +2 dice on any roll involving shadow spirits.
A PRISTINE EXAMPLE The Will of the Hammer dislikes making mass market goods, preferring to make elaborate, individual items. By paying an additional 50% of the items cost, you receive +2 dice on gear acquisition checks. This bonus cannot be applied to items being purchased in multiples.
ALL DOORS MUST OPEN, AS ALL LIVES MUST END For some unknown reason, The Will of the Hammer seems to have some grudge against obstacles. +2 dice to any roll to destroy a door, barricade, or similar object made to obstruct movement.
A SMITH’S SECRET The Will of the Hammer is a spirit, and has a number of contacts that help it acquire magical materials. +2 dice to availability checks for magical goods.
