Character Information

Summary

Wayonaise Mirzahi - yes that is her real name - had a somewhat modest and cushy life growing up. She was born to 2nd generation Israel immigrants after her grandparents wished to move to North America. After completing her schooling, she moved to work for Esprit. Her job on paper was a security contractor, but in reality that meant doing shady things for the company while maintaining a semblance of privacy away from the company's records and prying eyes. This went well until partway through her life she had a gig down in Australia. The airship she was on, shot down by an locked on rocket, crash landed in the desert. Wayonaise, stranded, fell victim to a mana storm. She was caught, transformed, and misshapen by the storm and lightning. Reshaped as someone new, something shunned by society, Wayonaise left the darkened skies for the blistering sun and scorching environments of the land, now stuck in the arid plains, left in the wake of the crash.

Finding her way back to civilization, the only things she had left to her name were her cloak and a tattered memory of her previous life. Now hated by the populace, she spent many years making an arduous path back to Seattle, caring a spot out for herself in the seedy underbelly of the city. Finding umbrage in the shade of the megatowers, there Wayonaise found herself again as a mercenary. Yet, this new version of herself was broken, shattered, and hurt. The company that had sent her on these jobs had failed to look after her. Her family disowned her. The whole world seemingly became her enemy. So, instead of fighting back for her place where it was, she simply accepted the life she had now, wearing a terrible smile as a mask, just to hide her true self and pain from losing everything she held dear. All save for her cloak.

Find companionship

Wayonaise wants to find some form of friendship or compatriot, and to hold them close to her heart, since she feels socially disenfranchised by her past.

"Everyone used to like working with me a whole bunch... You want to know what happened? I think I... well, I'll keep it to myself."

Seek shelter

Wayo similarly doesn't really feel like she has a place to call home, so finding something like that would be important too. She's always skeptic of finding a place that suits her.

"I want to know, if these idealistic and starry-eyed runners had witnessed their life shredded before their eyes, would they feel like me? Would they similarly also not feel like trusting anyone?"

Become less socially awkward

Wayo also has many issues with her behavior and prejudices, often found retaliating and holding grudges, making people stray away from her. Perhaps, if she had the right people in her life, she could even out from her PTSD.

"Y'know that like, everyone is keeping stuff from you, right? Luckily, you can gain the trust of others... though I think it's strange that you can even trust other people."

Start to care about others

Wayo has never really held a high affection or attention for other people, so training her senses to tell her to actually open up, let her guard down, and care about others is important to her.

"Retreat? Keep casualties to a minimum? Heh, hard to imagine... I'll keep it in mind, don't you worry!"

Wayonaise, due to her bug-like appearance, spent much of her time in the underground areas of Seattle, avoiding the judgmental stares of those above ground who would reject her for her looks. Over time, she built connections with others who were also shunned by mainstream society, including trolls, orcs, and other outcasts. While she never officially became 'liked' the Skraacha, she formed enough relationships to feel that the Ork Underground (OU) was becoming a place where she might belong.

In 2082, Wayonaise received reports of a potential Humanis-backed raid targeting a section of the OU and its citizens who had ventured above ground for supplies. She and others tried to get local law enforcement to intervene and stop the growing threat, but their efforts were ignored, and Wayonaise, in particular, was mistrusted due to her appearance and outsider status. When Knight Errant and Renraku’s Neo-PD failed to respond, Wayonaise decided to take matters into her own hands. She confronted the raiders, intending to defend the vulnerable OU citizens. However, the situation escalated quickly, leading to a violent conflict that ultimately ended in an explosion. The aftermath attracted attention from both Knight Errant and the Skraacha, but only after most of the combatants had already been dealt with.

The incident caused an uproar in the media, revealing that both Knight Errant and Neo-PD had known about the raid in advance but failed to take any action. This brought Wayonaise, someone who was previously mistrusted and marginalized, into the public spotlight. Her story gained local fame, with some seeing her as a hero who defended the people, while others speculated that she was using the event as a cover for more sinister motives, such as starting a hive in Seattle.
