Summary
A new group of runners to the Haven rob a bank and shenanigans ensue.
Background
A local gang known as the Lakewood Giants have lost one of their banks due to Knight Errant intervention and one Kevin Crimes wants his stash of drugs located their back, and wanting to save some nuyen, decides to give some newcomers to the shadows a shot.
The Meet
The runners all through a similar fixer acquire their first job on the Haven, a simple robbery in Tacoma for a Johnson all too familiar to the Shadowhaven organization. After a share of trouble for various runners for various means, they all meet up near Tacoma, where they were met with a red double decker styled bus and an Irishman describing what he needed them to do. After negotiations from Oracle netting the runners more pay, they set out to find out what they could and determine the best way to approach this endeavor.
The Plan
Some research into the bank revealed it once belonged to a gang in Tacoma called the "Lakewood Giants" a trog based gang with a heavy gloved baseball styled aesthetic. Realizing that a brief discussion with them would prove useful Oracle, Wayfarer, and Manashoe headed to a local diner to meet with the gang and discuss what they could. Meanwhile Miut and Weevil scouted out the matrix security of the building. Arriving at the diner Manashoe, Oracle, and Wayfarer discussed with the Giants what they could. Learning what they had already learned from Kevin Crimes but also security codes and where to find the secret stashes. The Giants asking in return that if the runners could to find a vintage bat in the secret compartment that is of great importance to the gang. The runners present seemingly agreeing to this motion. Meanwhile Miut and Weevil were able to secure a blueprint of the bank via the matrix, indicating a way directly into the vault they could use. With this in mind the runners readied themselves for whatever may await.
The Run
Outside the bank the runners were able to perform some scouting inside via Manashoe and Oracle in more casual attire. Seeing armored Knight Errant officers as guards and the area possessing a force 5 ward. With this in mind they headed back towards the roadmaster Weevil was piloting with a very keen interest in one of the bankgoers. Now to disable the security systems Miut did all she could to access the host and was successful, looping the cameras, disabling the alarms and the guards' ability to contact the local police station. With her efforts a silent success Manashoe, Wayfarer, and Ronin (who was INCREDIBLY eager for a fight) headed around the side of the building, a Knight Errant officer noticing Manashoe putting the security on slightly higher alert. With some prepared adhesives and explosives Wayfarer threw a mighty punch that caved in the wall and plasteel walls that belonged to the vault. With heat quickly on their tail Weevil quickly reversed the Roadmaster into the alleyway to make a hopefully quick escape. An earth spirit Oracle conjured aiding Wayfarer in loading the roadmaster with the stash he found inside the safe, the code the Giants giving him proving to be the correct one. While the runners loading the roadmaster as quickly as they could with guards opening the vault door Miut had a tense confrontation with the spider, a very long back and forth with dataspike after dataspike reverberating through their decks and bodies. Repeated videos of dancing cats to Atzlaner Spanish songs playing in the guards displays as they confronted the other runners on the physical.
Wayfarer's attempts to halt the officers trespass with his strength was sadly in vain as they managed to breach the bank vault. Ronin quickly taking this opportunity to go on the attack to hold off the onslaught. Wayfarer deciding to grab the remainder of what was in the secret area of the vault. Manashoe counterspelling what he could as the approach of the officers seemed imminent. With Ronin on her last legs and one of the officers sent into a blissful state the runners headed back into the roadmaster. All of the stash retrieved as well as the bat thanks to the Earth Spirit that departed not too long after. Some extra AK-98s retrieved as well for a bit of a bonus. With Weevil putting the petal to the metal and peeling out as quick as he could before the officers could inform the others. Manashoe choosing to leave one of the Knight Errant guards with a bit of a... firey gift which a water spirit attempted to put out as they made their escape. Through luck and grit the runners escaped with the stash and now simply needed to hand it off to their J.
Aftermath
With Manashoe curious they contacted one Dante Palmer a talismonger and merchant who may have an idea for what the bat they acquired may be worth. After some brief projecting and assensing the bat was revealed to be a force 3 weapon foci possible worth over 20k nuyen if they could find the right buyer. A heated debate followed with Wayfarer and Manashoe over the fate of the bat. Wayfarer's sense of honor winning out in the end but first the runners headed towards Puyallup to exchange with Kevin. After the runners showed the shipment Kevin seemed thankful and was about to take the rifles as well before the runners stopped him saying that was not part of the deal. A negotiation soon followed where upon Kevin chuckled, mentioning to them they had potential in them and wished them luck before heading off. With that under wraps the runners evading Knight Errant went towards the Giants who were in the runners debt for retrieving this for them. With a job well done and a lot of pay under their belts, the new batch of runners headed home, awaiting whatever may happen next amidst the shadows.
