Overview
Ru Xiao works as a White Paper Fan for the Eighty-Eights Triad, managing the organization's matrix presence and finances. Part business woman, part public relations officer, and part criminal decker, Ru Xiao is an influential figure in the Tacoma underworld.
Background
Born a sickly child, Ru Xiao's chances of surviving Kowloon were slim. But she did, and in no small part due to the devotion of a mother that gave her life to get Ru Xiao out of Hong Kong.
The trip cost her, both personally and physically. Owing a deep debt to the Eighty-Eights, she paid it off with a natural cunning, a knack for numbers, and an affinity for bold, cutting moves - both on the matrix and in meatspace. On the way up the ladder, she replaced much of her chronically ill body with 'ware, showing a distinct lack of sentimentality in 'getting rid of the chaff.'
Recently made a White Paper Fang, Ru Xiao is still establishing herself as a respected member of the Eighty-Eights' leadership in Seattle.

Personality
Ru Xiao says little, but expresses much. She has a taste for cutting comments, and her humor is often dry and her tone droll. A survivor at her core, she's always looking towards how to survive tomorrow. To that end, she's not above unscrupulous alliances or the cold elimination of foes.
She enjoys 'Augmented Trance,' a particular genre of electronic music where the beat frequentlly relies on sounds only audible via augmentation or drugs.
