Overview
Many years ago, Lagoon (not that she went by that handle back then) was a joygirl turned go ganger razorgirl trying to climb her way up the ranks of the Ancients, full of rage and ambition. She was a squad leader angling for a promotion to lieutenant when her life got turned upside down by the passing of Halley's Comet in 2061. Lagoon found herself suddenly, painfully changing. When it was over, she couldn't recognize the woman in the mirror. She'd been turned into something resembling a bipedal merrow by the comet, something distinctly non-elven.
Her initial reaction was shock, and shame. So much of her identity was tied up in being an elf. Lagoon hid herself away, avoiding the rest of the gang, adjusting to what had been done to her body. But those feelings quickly turned to rage when she began to see the media demonizing these new "changelings" and reports of bigots attacking those who were transformed. Attacking her new people. It didn't take long for her to stop feeling sorry for herself, sharpen her hand razors, and fight back. If the world wanted to treat her and her new people like monsters, she'd give them a reason to be afraid.
She eventually fell in with the Morlocks after realizing she'd be better off acting as part of a gang again instead of operating as a lone wolf. Having a community to protect tempered her rage and gave her the space to realize violence wasn't the only way to keep Seattle's changelings safe.
When the gang's last leader, a stone-skinned changeling named Balboa, went missing while leading a bug hunt, Lagoon made her move. She wasn't the only one hoping to seize control of the Morlocks, but she still came out on top of the battle for control of the Morlocks. Many of her underlings describe her as "a massive slitch", but under her leadership the Morlocks have adopted some of the military precision she picked up during her time with the Ancients.
