Summary

The team rescues Nameless from some serious harm.

Background

Nameless has remained out of view for some time. He has a habit of popping up every now and then but Samsara's concerned about not hearing from him in a while.

The Meet

Samsara's just looking for her friend, but the other two runners are hired by bounties on a peculiar ghoul in the OU sporting a cybersuite. More than a few people want biometric scans of the thing. They converge on an abandoned metro station, finding dead corpsec but little sign of Nameless. Following tracks, they do find Nameless hiding in a fuselage cabinet and on the verge of death. The team manages to stabilize him and arrange him to head to a CrashCart clinic for treatment.

The Plan

Unfortunately, Nameless is in a tougher condition than expected, subjected to some kind of infection. The CrashCart team can keep him alive, but they can't provide complete cures. The team starts looking into what mage they could hire for treatment and end up choosing the Merlyns, a wizgang in Seattle.

The Run

Approaching the Merlyns, Tusked Gillette manages to arrange a deal with the gang -- they have to solve a bit of a feud with another gang by stealing a specific quality alchemical crucible and bringing it back to the Merlyns. The sneak job into the elven gang's hideout succeeds with spirit support from Murray, distraction from TG and Samsara's sneaking abilities. With the mage aid secured, Nameless is taken away from the CrashCart ward due to Evo releasing a bounty on his head. Hiding in one of Samsara's bolt holes, the Merlyns provide magical healing to cure his infection. At the same time, Shiawase releases a bounty on Nameless' head as well, curiously enough.

Aftermath

Nameless has to go into deeper hiding and contemplates leaving the sprawl. The team scavenges a bit of audio snippets from the dead corpsec goons, finding their insignia that none of the runners recognize and that they called Nameless by the callsign of Kilo One. In addition, the CrashCart cyberscans reveal that part of Nameless' cybersuite hosts a neural augmentation that isn't patented anywhere, leading some to suspect it to be a black market or in-house discreet augmentation not sold to the public.
