Background
Sybaris is a relatively young dragon, one of the last raised and mentored by Dunkelzhan in the 4th World. Growing up in a time of turmoil and change as the magic faded from the Earth, Sybaris had to be flexible and humble, at least for a dragon. Learning all she could from those willing to spend the effort, there were none she respected as much as her mentor, her parent really, Dunkelzhan. Believing deeply in his ideals, his dream of a stronger and better world, she hung on his every word.
As time passed, the cycle of worlds turned, Sybaris and her kin falling into a deep hibernation, the young dragon dreaming as the world changed around her. Finally awakening in the mid 2060's, Sybaris found her prior imaginings had failed her. Even her wildest dreams of the future couldn't compare to the reality of the Sixth World. The rise of technology and industry, of corporations, militaries and more, it was so much. Too much. But most of all, Dunkelzhan was dead.
The most stable rock in her life, gone forever, taken not by time in the manner of mortals, but by a car bomb. Sybaris didn't even know what a car was. She spent several years adrift, retreating inward, trying to grapple with the strange world forced upon her. Thinking, processing, moping.
Eventually, she made contact with the Draco Foundation. Even though Dunkelzhan was gone, didn't mean his dream had to be. By working with those he left behind, Sybaris could make a difference in the world, something positive, something good. Anything to keep her mind busy as she works to rebuild her life. And so, now she works.
Overview
A special agent of the Draco Foundation, Sybaris leads projects looking into secrets of the past. They work to protect against threats, research countermeasures, and stop others from abusing them. At times she works with teams, in others with lone operatives, the tight need for secrecy and discretion complicating matters. Apart from her work with the Foundation, Sybaris also works to expand her personal power and resources. Compared to the stereotypical ideas of dragons, she's always been a bit behind in that. With her connections and innate power though, she's making progress as best she can.
