Shadowhaven Combat Tournament
By Trash Panda
Ooooooooookay. I wasn't expecting this to turn into a thing but apparently it did and because I made the mistake of trying to sell tickets, I'm now organizing it. So LISTEN UP! We're having a fight tournament! -- Trash Panda (talk)
Due to popular interest, I am proud to announce the first Shadow Haven Combat Tournament. Solace is generously offering us use of their basement for the event, and to show our appreciation, proceeds from ticket sales and entry fees will be donated to their lovely organization. This whole mess started over Riot and Doctor Anubis wanting to spar and it kinda exploded out of control from that until suddenly we had interest in a big fight. What can ya do?
Tickets are gonna be ¥20 a pop, first come first seated because I can not be arsed to make a fragging seating chart. Work it out yourselves and if you can't settle things, make that ¥200 and you can join the tournament and duke it out with whatever fragger stole that seat you wanted. The winners will get a percentage of the collected cash shoved in a bag or something, and the rest will go to Solace. Tickets get you entry to see every fight, and also entitle you to a matrix feed of the fights if you'd rather watch it via VR or re-watch it at a later date.
I am fully expecting someone to pirate the hell out of the feed anyway, so to save everyone the trouble I'm going to release the feed after it's all over. -- Trash Panda (talk)
I can take care of the Feeds. Just tell me where the brawl is goin to be and i can install cams and mircophones. -- Night Claws (talk)
Fights will be organized into randomly generated brackets, using either single elimination knockouts or double elimination, depending on the number of entries. Each fight will be scheduled at a time when both fighters are "fresh". Everyone should be at their best going into it. This means that time is given to recover between matches so nobody is going in exhausted from their last match. I will personally be on standby with a medkit and a Heal spell at the ready, but, anyone with ACTUAL medical experience is welcome to volunteer.
Signup Sheet
Let's get down to it. I have no idea how much interest we're going to actually get in this, so let's just see what happens. Add your name and choice of fighting style to the list below and we'll see what happens from there. -- Trash Panda (talk)

Rules
Obviously we are going to need rules for this thing. I figure some of them don't need to be said, but I'm saying them anyway just to be safe. You never know.
- Non-Lethal Combat Only
No attacks will be permitted if they have the capability of reasonably inflicting physical damage on your average Joe wageslave. Yes, I know most of us are made of tougher stuff (literally in some cases), but we don't want any accidents here. Non-lethal sparring weapons can be provided for those who need them, which will deal non-lethal damage. If you use a Weapon Foci, we can cover the dangerous bits with padding.
- All other forms of combat will be permitted. Special restrictions may apply.
Sorry to our technomancer and decker friends, you might want to sit this out unless you're weirdly good in a fight. If we have enough interest, we may be able to make special brackets for mundane and magic types. A mage duel would be pretty cool. Just like on The Master Wizard!
- Summoning Spirits is permitted, with restrictions.
The summoner must be physically in the arena and prepared to defend themselves. The spirit may be summoned prior to the start of the fight during pre-fight preparations, but must begin the fight on the astral plane. No binding of spirits is permitted.
- Buff spells are permitted, provided the fighter is the one casting them.
Mages are allowed to cast any spells they like on themselves prior to the fight, they may also have a spirit cast or sustain the spell. spells must be cast in the pre-fight preparation stage.
- Mind Magic is not permitted.
Just no. This is supposed to be a fight.
- Drones are permitted, with restrictions.
Drone operators need not be present in the ring when utilizing their drones if they are jumped into one. Drone operators accept that their drones may take damage as a result from this, but since we're not assholes I'll see if I can get my grubby little paws on some replacement parts. Drone operators should also be prepared for potential dumpshock.
- No sabotage allowed
Yeah, yeah, we're all criminals who may sometimes kill for money, but let's not use that as an excuse to be unsporting dicks. Anyone found trying to sabotage their opponents prior to a fight is disqualified and getting some negative feedback on their profile. Don't go trying to hire runners to do your dirty work for you, either. The irony is not lost on me.
- All fights shall be scheduled to take place when both combatants are "fresh".
Everyone involved should be at their best and ready to give it their all at the start of the match. Any drain suffered during pre-fight preparations is gonna stick.
- Drugs are permitted.
Yay!
- Should physical damage be sustained by any party, the fight is immediately over.
I understand Pain Editors are a thing. You're expected to yield before you hit the point of it being dangerous. BEFORE. If you're going to be using anything like that, you must also have a biomonitor that tells you when it's time to quit.

Arena
- The arena has been set up in the basement of Solace's Homeless shelter.
- Items useful for cover will be present in all fights, and a skilled sneak may be able to find a good hiding place if they intend to hide from their opponent and bide their time.
- Leaving the arena after the fight has started is considered a forfeit.
