Background
During the events of Disasterpiece Theater, Koi and Weevil were killed in the CAS - and while Babylon and Blackhawk escaped, their friends were left behind. Now, Blackhawk and some of Weevil’s friends make their way back to the Confederate American States in order to follow the final trails of their friends in hopes of recovering any element of them as a memorial - only to find that the files lead to a series of experiments by the CAS government on similarly murdered augmented runners - and ultimately, recovering Koi and/or Weevil’s bodies. The heartfelt moment of being able to bring them home for burial is short lived as the team has to now figure out how to safely do just that - and bring themselves home.
The Meet
Lisa Cutty came across some records about the bodies of Koi and Weevil being recovered after the events of the failed Atlanta run. She explains to Blackhawk how there is a general understanding in the shadow community that deals with the CAS that the Piedmont Hospital is off limits and something of a black hole for shadowrunners. She accidentally comes across a report that the bodies were recovered and taken to Piedmont for unknown reasons. It's not a job, per se, but a tip - and one she gives him a solid warning on to be careful with.
Blackhawk, in turn, contacts Wayfarer, who contacts Miut and Oracle, and the team gets together to discuss the issue - and that they are going to do what they can to bring their friend's body home.
The team ends up contacting Cascade in order to get them smuggled into the CAS while Blackhawk arranges to have his truck shipped over for 3 grand - arriving in three days unless it encounters issues at the CAS border.
The Legwork
Pre-Run
- Wayfarer spends the day pre run connecting with Drifter, fishing, and prepping his gear for the mission.
- Miut spends the day getting her decking gear in order, resupplying on lockpicking, Medkits, and electronics gear.
- Oracle gets some medical supplies and preps his gear, generally trying to not tip off his wife that he's about to go on a shadowrun, despite Wayfarer's AMAZING EMAIL.
- Blackhawk gets his whole full 'baited for bear' kit set up.
Matrix
- Piedmont Hospital - R6 Host: A6 S7 D8 F9
- Has a reputation as being off limits to the shadow community - a sort of black hole where runners vanish.
- Part of a set of rumors where runners who die in the CAS get their bodies "disappeared" into the Piedmont for some reason.
- Learns that the Piedmont is funded from the CAS directly
- This turns into PILES of conspiracy theories about why the CAS is funding the hospital, ranging from 'working on gammaware' to 'cyberzombies' to 'stealing used cyberware for reworking or genetic therapy' and even wilder options.
- File references to a company called Gene Corps, though the connections are uncertain outside of shared funding.
- Gene Corps is, officially at least, a public health organization focused on genetic therapy for common, everyday, illnesses.
- A further search reveals that Genecorps is a sandpit/trap filled with data bombs that the team can now avoid.
- Registry of patients should be located inside the hospital Host

The Run
Day One: Arrival
- The team arrives in Atlanta, manages to steal/buy a car after the Miut Pregnancy Scam (tm), and then heads to Rockdale to establish a safe house
- They manage to not escalate the local Lone Star after having an run in with some 'local color' vis a vis metaracism
- The team gets a Low Lifestyle motel in the SE corner of Rockdale. (Note: Oracle - Creature of Comfort. Wayfarer, Miut - Insomnia)
- During the evening:
- Wayfarer does research on Atlanta maps, locations, etc
- Oracle calls his wife. It goes to Voicemail. DUN DUN DUUUN (one night of Insomnia)
- Miut checks in with Oracle
- Blackhawk winds down and rests.
Day Two: Atlanta
- They call Hextech in order to get some Matrix help for Miut, who has to agree to eating a quarter cup of Bellevue Dirt in exchange for Hex's help, as she has gotten the reputation as the "sand chick"
- By night, Blackhawk scouting run on the Hospital
- Disguised via R6 Synthskin
- Hawk plants a data tap on a camera near the back
- Sneaks into the ER Waiting room, is able to examine the map and learn there is an entire security wing as opposed to office
- Miut does some additional research and comes to realize Genecorps is a trap
- Oracle does some astral scouting and finds the wards over the Security Office
Day Three: Atlanta
