Overview
The Girl in Many Colors is a hacker as enigmatic as she is eccentric. Little is known about her origins and little is known about the true nature of her quest. Supposedly, she is an intensely resonant technomancer in search of a resonance realm called 'Garden', something she claims is at the very heart of the matrix itself as a concept. She has convinced herself that the path to garden lies in a place called 'Heaven' and has dedicated the first leg of her search into finding and infiltrating the Heavenly Host. Eager to network among other technomancers (fellow Heavenseekers), her quest has only just begun.
GM Notes
-The Girl in Many Colors is hyperactive, neurotic and intensely curious. She talks a LOT and asks a lot of prying questions about her fellow hackers and their previous and current work. She will want to know the nature of whatever job she is brought on to assist with and she will even go as far as hacking her allies devices for their juicy secrets if she feels she is being left in the dark.
-Her persona takes the form of a woman wearing a sundress and featureless mask. Both sundress and mask are the color she currently embodies. She is ALWAYS in motion, spinning or dancing or skipping circles around other personas. Her sprites take the form of similar masks with flowing silk running out behind them, also matching in color. Her resonance actions are intensely bright, difficult to look directly at. Extremely oddly for resonant technomancers, she enjoys sampling dilapidated hosts and glitchy simsense. I'm sure its nothing.
-The color of The Girl In Many Colors can be decided by the GM or with a roll of a 12-sided dice. 1-2 is White, 3-5 is Grey, 6-8 is Black, 9-10 is Red, 11 is Blue and 12 is Purple. Her mannerisms change slightly with each color, she is more cheerful while White, more scheming while Grey, more mercenary while Black, more bellicose while Red, more analytical while Blue and more morose while Purple. Don't go too far with these though, just keep them in mind. She will still be hyperactive and exuberant no matter what.
The Hat Colors are as follows | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
White | Defensive, 'ethical' hackers. Security Spiders are an example of White Hat hackers. Support limited to defensive measures or matrix searching, will not infiltrate active hosts or steal stuff, unless providing evidence of the hosts illegality. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Black | Criminal hackers. Almost all Shadowrunners are an example of b\Black Hat hackers. Moving with malicious and entirely mercenary intent, a black hat hacker will infiltrate hosts, steal files and engage in cybercombat. They may be less interested in running searches or providing defensive measures but only marginally so. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Grey | A middle ground between Black and White but still very much illegal. Consider Grey to be a 'middle-ground'. No actions penalized or outlawed and no actions gain a dicepool bonus. Will generally avoid matrix combat with spiders and committing undue vandalism or damage. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Red | Red Hat Hackers are Vigilantes, fighting back against Black and Grey Hat hackers. They are the most bellicose of the hacker hats, reveling in cybercombat. This enjoyment may cause them to seek out security spiders to brawl with (non-lethally), even if the host has every right to be there. Support will take the form of matrix combat or 'door-kicking', though legal hosts and security spiders will still incur the dicepool malus. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Blue | Blue Hats are security experts, hired by criminal and legitimate organizations alike to conduct penetration tests. They are interested in security and foundation structures, providing support through working and hacking IC and Hosts and taking the malus while interacting with personas. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
