Defrag was born and raised as a UCAS citizen. She had a difficult childhood, struggling with depression, until a high school counselor took notice and helped her get better. When she graduated, she decided to study psychiatric medicine to help others like her. Shortly after Crash 2.0, while still attending university, Defrag Emerged, and between the sudden change and the early persecution of Technomancers, she'd have sunk into depression again if she hadn't the mental discipline and training to look after herself; after all, in those early days even therapists weren't safe to talk to about being a 'dangerous Technomancer'. When all the troubles died down, she came forward and got a technomancy license, and decided that there weren't enough therapists who understood the Resonance enough to help Technomancers who needed help, and decided to step up, opening her own practice on the Matrix, with an option for walk-in visits to her office in Maplewood. | |||
