Background
Nessa was born to a pair of SINless elven parents in Tir Tairngire. For over a decade, the pair struggled to feed themselves and the growing child, however on the eve of her 14th birthday, during a rare holiday to the Salish- Shidhe Council, events occured that the mundane parents had hoped would never occur. Whilst observing a religious ritual of the Cascade Crow, something welled up inside of Nessa and magic flowed through her body. The next few days were a blur as she struggled to keep a lid on her power and flowed in and out of consciousness. When it had passed, she found herself in a medicine-woman's hut, bundled in furs and clothing not her own. Although she was not born a part of the tribe, the decision was made that as long as she helped and pulled her weight the tribe would shelter and protect her. At 16, during a coming of age ritual, she was given the name Hawthorne following the berries she consumed. Although she had settled in to her new life, she could never shake the feeling that she didn't truly belong, and before her 17th birthday she stole away one night across the border into Seattle. SINless and unconnected, it's lucky she darkened the Daze's doorstep instead of falling into a gang's hands, or worse, ending up in the hands of a corp. Alessa kept an eye on her, gently guiding her in the right direction, and when she was ready, slowly introduced her to the world of fragging the man and working with other runners. Since then, she's moved into a cave network in the forest of Snohomish to be more at one with the natural world
