Summary

  • 7/5/25: 4pm - 8pm (4 hrs)
  • 7/19/25: 4pm - 8pm (4 hrs)

Background

Danny Hoffman needs some help. He's become aware of someone running against Renraku due to the events of Paradise Lost and sees this as a prime opportunity to nail a 'twofer' - remove a rival in Renraku as well as get some additional intelligence regarding what's going on with the Renraku runs.

---

"Got a job for some folks looking to make a quick strike at the right time. Pretty standard fare, need someone picked up, pumped for info, and then dumped clean. Have your fixer flash the deets, and we'll see who's coming over to the cookout.

-Danny"

The Meet

The team meets at a 'house' owned by Danny, where he is, of course, grilling in the backyard. They learn that Danny Hoffman, with Ares Macrotech, has become aware of the fact that someone is “running” Renraku - the number of runs against the other corp to acquire drone parts and knowledge. He isn’t sure what or why, only that Trevor Hill is somehow connected. As such, he wants to both get some inside scoop on what’s going on as well as potentially nab a Renraku operative when the Japanocorp is more likely to blame it on someone else.

Legwork

  • Matrix
    • Archivist hacks into the road cameras and is able to find the target leaving the Arcology about a month ago, taking I5 north into Everett and getting off in Beverly Park.
  • Magic
  • Meat
    • Twitch Fox realizes that this is a very unsecure move by the target.
    • Getaway contacts Ashen Hand and learns the target is likely to take the most direct route and contracts him to cut off some of the other routes.
    • Getaway contacts Hector Wells to network them some decking assistance, earning them some help from Archivist.
    • Gulliver contacts Alessa P in order to get intel on the Misress. Alessa doesn't know of anything particular, but is able to indicate this might be a 'single serve' escort situation.
    • Gulliver contacts Amrei Veidt to get some additional intelligence. She confirms that there is no connection to Boeing in Everett, but that the target is going to Everett due to "unusual" habits with escorts. She does, however, drop that another team is out in the wind on the same target for another fixer, Trevor Hill.
    • Archivist is able to recall that Trevor Hill is a relatively new Fixer on the scene and seems to only run Renraku, which is unusual - mentioning this, Getaway remembers the job Divorce Rates that they did prior.
  • Gulliver contacts Gator about body disposal, bribing him with raw steaks and explosives.
  • Twitch Fox contacts Clyde to cause a traffic jam in order to stall out the targets car.

The Run

  • The team meets with Rex, the opposing team's Face, after Amrei sets up a small meeting between the two teams.
  • Getaway finds the opposing teams sniper, and Brunhilde sets up a counter sniper position.
  • Gulliver and Rex negotiates a deal where the other team will help them acquire Okada and allow them to interrogate him before they take credit for the kill.
  • On the appointed day, Okada is on the route desired due to Ashen Hand's interference and more or less stuck in gridlock traffic due to an 'arguement' betweeo two cabbies about who fender-bender'd who.
  • The assault on the car goes, more or less, off without a hitch. The vehicle gets disable, the Renraku security gets put down via SnS attacks, and the team snags Okada.
  • While restraining him, they realize he has an impanted biomonitor with a GPS signal - quickly resolved by Getaways' ECM jammer in the Roadmaster.
  • A short and very effective intimidation later, the team learns the following:
    • Someone has been running Renraku for highly advanced drone parts and software
    • They suspect a DI is involved somewhere given the theft of super high capacity data transfer cables
    • The NPC, Iwai Masayuki, from Divorce Rates was a DI researcher and programmer
    • Someone stole, last year, some programming information for what was supposed to be Renraku’s super advanced swarm program
  • The team realizes that there is a DI somewhere behing Trevor Hill in some fashion.
  • The team kills Okada, drops him off to the other team for them to take credit for the kill, and then to Gator and Gator's friends to feast.

Getaway - "This is probably the cleanest run I've had in a while. Happy with how it went!"
Gulliver
Renraku under fire by A.I. - Maybe it is time to sell stock and buy gold? . . . What a head ache to decide on for those fortunate enough to own such assets.
Twitch Fox: "My first mission under the Shadow Haven...Things went very smoothly and I would have no problem working with this team again in the future."
Brunhilde - "Things went really smooth, though I nearly electrocuted the target to death..."
