Summary
Buddhist ghouls are missing and Nameless wants them found and rescued.
Background
A group of Buddhist monks turned ghouls have decided to use their new found condition to aid other downtrodden ghouls by providing safe havens for them, cleansed and comfortable. Recently the horde of ghouls they gathered was dispersed and nearly wiped out, the monks fled to various parts of Puyallup.
The Meet
The team meets up with the J in a sewer in Redmond. A ghoul wrapped in cloths covering up a disfiguring face. He wants the team to locate three ghouls. Buddhists that we hiding his horde by providing shelter and safety. The J knows little about their ware bouts but does know that are someplace in the Puyallup area. He offers a sack of ware recovered from the ghoul horde that didn't survive the culling as payment. The team accepted and got to work.
The Plan
Investigate locations in the region that might be depositing waste meat for the ghouls to survive on in hiding.
The Run
Blue Jay dispatched her drones and began canvasing areas of Puyallup while searching the matrix for possible shops that might be responsible for a lot of bodies. The search revealed three possible shops. A Ghoul chop shop in east Puyallup, a Yakuza chop shop in Loveland, and a Spikes chop shop north of Tarislar. While performing this search Bumble reached out to a local Puyallup contact. She didn't know much about the location of the ghouls but was certain they wouldn't be on the surface or else she would have heard something. She did recant the story of a pack of ghouls driven out of their homes and slaughtered however.
With this information in hand the team decided to investigate the ghoul chop shop first. They approached in late afternoon and located a sewer entrance nearby. Bumble was too large to easily fit in the space and the walkways within were much to old to support his weight. Blue and Shugi entered the foul smelling sewer and had a look around. Following some loose trails they discovered a door at the base of an elevator shaft below a waste reclamation center run by the Ancients. The shaft was large enough for Bumble to rejoin the team. He awaited night fall and then set upon breaching the facility. The walls were patrolled by watcher spirts as well as a couple of guards. Bumble deftly sliced through the gate with his claws and quietly approached the build. The nose from cutting the gate attracted some attention and Bumble took cover under a large create until the guards returned to their patrol. Using the crate as cover from the watchers he entered the basement of the facility and lowered himself down the elevator shaft.
The team now re-connected entered the door way, discovering one of the monks. After a brief conversation they determined that the monk wished for rescue and the team obliged. While waiting for delivery of a chemical sealed suit to protect the surface from his plague the monk, Batsaikhan Myagmar, recanted his tale. The three brothers were separated and fled after the battle. During the confrontation Batsaikhan saw that one of his brothers, sickly from birth, had what seemed to be a large centipede emerging from his body, in insect spirt of sorts perhaps? Using his powers of divination Batsaikhan was able to confirm that one of his brothers has died, attacked by the Yakuza for being a ghoul. He has been unable to locate the 3rd centipede brother's aura and fears the worst.
While extracting himself from the Elf controlled facility, Bumble drew some attention from the elven guards which resulted in a small firefight. Rockets were fired, bullets sprayed and prayed, and arrows exploded. The result, a small scratch on Bumble and one very dead elven guard.
Aftermath
The team contacts the J after hearing the accounts of the recovered monk. Knowing that one is dead and the other likely no longer helpful, the J was satisfied and the target was returned. The J payed out the bag of recovered ware as promised and the team promptly sold it to the Ghoul chop shop that they had discovered.
