Overview

Alejandra Loreto-Liu is a particularly unfortunate SURGE case, being overgrown with slime mold and fungi. It hasn't been very good for her health, and, as a result, she spends much of her time in her dark, damp, spore-filled room, browsing the matrix and waiting at best, hoping at worst, for the spreading rot in her body to finally claim her.

Faced with the bleak reality of living in constant pain, hiding away from the rest of society, Alejandra became one of the orchestrators of a Blood Magic ritual, wherein over 50 SURGE-afllicted individuals planned to sacrifice their lives in the hopes of closing the rift over Seattle during the ACHE incident. She, along with several others, was talked out of participating by Joule.

She currently lives in an isolated part of Redmond, alongside Set, a fellow SURGEd, who takes care of her, and tries his best to make sure she's able to retain some level of independence despite her health problems.

GM Notes: Alejandra is soft-spoken, as well as frequently coughing or struggling to breathe. She tends to phrase things delicately or talk around details she doesn't think people want to hear, but can be blunt and direct when it comes to discussing her own frustrations about her SURGE, or whenever she feels condescended to.

Aspect	Description
Fungus Among Us	Being a fungal SURGE is... not particularly pleasant. Besides the constant trouble breathing (which makes her a poor choice for any physical work), being in the same room as Alejandra (or one she's been in for a while) is going to fill your lungs with spores. When meeting with her in person, either: a) Wear a respirator. Alejandra will be upset by this reminder of her condition, presenting some kind of complication at the GM's discretion (for example, making it harder to convince her to help, or making her request more payment than she usually would. This is not borne of maliciousness, just misery.) or; b) Bear with it. Every minute you're there, roll BOD, plus any bonus resistances to natural toxins. If you get less than three hits, gain Disorientation. On a glitch, gain Nausea.
Shroom and Gloom	Sometimes, Alejandra's really just not feeling it. Every day she's around, roll 1d6. Alejandra will be: 1: Despondent (All dicepools are halved.) / 2: Lethargic (Everything takes twice as long.) / 3: Noncommittal (She's just kind of vague and uncertain about everything.) / 4-6: Fine.
Support Network	Shroud is in touch with a number of SURGEd across Seattle and beyond. +2 to networking checks if the person in question is SURGEd.
Support Network II	Specifically, she spends a lot of time with people who, like her, consider their SURGEing to be something of a curse. Additional +2 if the networked person's SURGE qualities present unique difficulties to the run, or to their general ability to function in sixth world society.
Death Cap	It's incredibly demeaning, but, in a pinch, yes, it's an option. +2 on gear rolls to source toxins.
Data Sporage Solutions	Shroud has several beefy drives full of online encyclopedias to consult. If it's information that would be on the Matrix, she can make her knowledge checks as extended tests, with a 1 hour interval between each roll.
Psilocybe Aztecorum	Shroud has (or, at least, had) ties to Aztechnology, and takes a +2 dicepool bonus to knowledge about them, as well as to any matrix actions against or in one of their hosts.
Hydnellum Peckii	Yes, that includes knowing about that part. +2 dicepool to knowledge about Blood Magic.
Yourcelium is Mycelium	Shroud's own deck isn't particularly good, so she tends to hijack and assimilate other decks into her decentralised network. She gains a +2 dicepool bonus to actions that rely on Data Processing, and can benefit from teamwork bonuses on matrix actions, similarly to the Team Player positive quality.
