Overview
A woman with a double M.D. as well as a Masters in Thaumaturgy, Julia Kaufey changed her name to Vincenza Van Goth after she got her sponsored position at Universal Omnitech almost immediately after graduation. She performed amicably during the research and development of modern alphaware streamlining methods and ascended to the position of chief surgeon in one of Universal Omnitech's primary beta-capable clinics. She wasn't satisfied with just working the same old products day in, day out and applied to a more artistically minded subsidiary of the AA-rating corporation. UO Artisans is the augmentation company where the wealthiest people get aura tattoos by having their very muscle fibers carry texts of their favorite novels, cybereyes turned into perfect replicas of iridescently cut rubies and casemods for cyberlimbs that can go for hundreds of thousands of nuyen on the market if sold.
This was the truly rewarding work for her. That said, her hard work was rewarded with a promotion and nowadays she's tasked with more official business that takes up all of her working hours. No matter how hard she tries, she doesn't have enough time during her workday, even if she puts in a little bit of overtime, to get some of her own projects in. Having already operated on her own arm to turn it into as beautiful of a piece as her subjective view could get, Vincenza looks for further inspiration. So long as the funds don't come out of Universal Omnitech's own pockets, she can take a dose of Long Haul and work an all-nighter on some off-the-books projects. Her aides? Already done. The anthrodrone nurses' cyberlimbs? Fully covered in engravings. Perhaps some shadowrunners with an eye for quality will accept coming under her knife, no questions asked. She doesn't care about anything else other than to immortalize her designs in a living body and see them healed.
Vincenza requests a full 360 degree scan of the naked body once the augmentations have fully integrated on top of the usual compensation, paying for the raw materials out of pocket. She'll keep these in her own private collection, perhaps one day establishing an art exhibit when the runners are long dead and nothing but a distant memory. Until then, try to sleep soundly, knowing that the piece of art embedded in you is on film and that photo is being caressed fondly by a creep with long hand razors. At least it comes free with a custom look?
