Summary
Amidst a party and gathering of several factions. Threats and danger lurk around the corner.
Background
After a successful extraction mission via another team of runners. Dustin Lionheart is stated to make an appearance and talk on behalf of Kassandra Hemingway and her campaign to be governor of Seattle. As well as several other notable individuals. A group of runners is hired to help out with security and to ensure the festivities go off with as little a hitch as possible.
The Meet
Arriving near the top of a skyscraper in the downtown area of Seattle, a group of runners met with one Armstrong, an ork mafioso who wished for today's festivities to go off well with the threats of Humanis around and the fact several groups that gathered around would have tensions and bad blood. With a base pay of 12k nuyen negotiations unfolded that had it so if the runners did a good job making sure no one left and that no lives were lost then 6k nuyen would be added to their payment. With the terms agreeable, the runners were split into two teams, combat team and social team. One to be ready in the event combat should arise and the other to defuse it should it arise. With these goals in mind the runners got to it.
The Plan
Setting up for the threats at hand both Ashford and Mojo summoned spirits to help keep watch of the premises. Ryuuji and Draven acting as general security on the lookout. Meanwhile Paz patted down and ensured all entering the gathering were up to no nefarious purposes. In the process told Spinrad to leave the hurlg and a posh fox to leave their bigger firearms with them. Mojo also defusing a rising situation between Horizon and Aztechnology, Ryuuji assisting in this by leering in from the background. However, below the runner's noses some of the staff had been controlled into swapping out knives for throwing knives and other such preparations. Then the man of the hour arrived, Dustin himself. Paz having to help him through the door with the Humanis crows gathering outside. With an assortment of boo's and heavy glares Dustin eventually made his way into the building. But with the assistance and security of Ryuuji, was safely escorted upstairs as to where he would not be as threatened by would-be snipers and assassins.
The Run
In a chaotic clusterfuck that can only be described as the manifestation of "ballroom blitz" itself. The battle commenced. With a Humanis HTR team, toxic mage's, a swarm of drones, a sniper, and other such opponents they attacked the gathering. Two of the brainwashed kitchen adepts grabbing the knives and hurling them at Mojo, who niftly dodged one before his spirit managed to tank the other two attacks. Paz also helping deal with the HTR team. A friendly rigger hired by Armstrong managed to assist in depowering some of the oncoming drones. Meanwhile Ryuuji did his best to fend off the hoard of well armed Humanis members attempting to get into the room Dustin was residing in. Yet despite his concern Dustin immediately managed to shoot and handle himself against the one or two that managed to break past the Yakuza man's might with the big iron on his hip (Ruger Super Warhawk). Yet with all this going on Draven summoned a massive and strong ball of lightning that destroyed all the remaining drones. Ashford's spirit finding a sniper attempting to break through the concrete to get a better shot at Dustin. Only for said sniper to get pummeled and yeeted by said spirit. Mojo and Paz in the meanwhile managed to managed the adept's and toxic mage who controlled them. Mojo's quick dispelling, Paz's hooting, and Mojo's spirit's massive bat making short work of the assailants. With the mind altering affects over and threats disposed of. HTR arrived making sure all went smoothly.
Aftermath
Amidst the aftermath and over a cold drink. Armstrong paid the runners in full and then some for the trouble that arose and the chaos there in. But with a successful rally and a good pay day the runners went about their ways with another successful run under their belts.
