Summary
Five runners get a mysterious message that informs them of a gang's screw-up regarding stolen gear, giving them the opportunity to find said gang and relieve them of their ill-gotten gains.
Background
Getaway, Huntress, Haruko, E-Mad, and Klom all get a message, roughly around the same time, stating that a gang (the Ancients) have managed to get some gear recently, and that the runners should take said gear recently to put to better use. The meeting would take place in an abandoned parking lot in Everett, where they would gain more information and meet the rest of the team. Along the way, one of runners spot a group of Halloweeners gearing up, foreshadowing a future complication... though at the time this was unknown.
The Meet
At the parking lot, E-Mad and Getaway notice a sprite on the Matrix, and as it realizes they see it, it points to a nearby rock which hides a device. Connecting to the device, the group sees a picture of a table loading with firearms as well as additional gear. There appear to be lights in the background, but ultimately very little else to direct them to where this may originate. Additionally, there is the information that this gang is the Ancients, indicating they are likely in Tacoma or Puyallup.
The Plan
Piling into Getaway's vehicle, the group begins making their way as they call up contacts to try narrowing the search. Given what their contacts have for them, they narrow it down to three possible locations. A smuggling dock, a BTL den, or a club. Heading to the docks and the BTL den, they are able to discern neither place is correct, meaning the only possibility is the club. Once at the club, they then begin to plan how to go about getting the weapons out without alerting any of the Ancients or the civilians inside.
On the Matrix, E-Mad is able to locate the RFIDs of the gear in the basement, while Getaway sends a drone inside to sus out the Ancients. The Ancients' primary Spider is unconscious due to intoxication and drugs, with the backup Spider utilizing a simple commlink. Most of the other members are also in various states of incapacitated as well, leading the runners to believe this is easier due to the clear incompetence of these individuals. However, there was one person inside that could prove to be a challenge: A heavily augmented human, one who has been allowed to join the Ancients, equipped with a Move-by-Wire System and an Internal Router. Still, there was a wall to separate his sight from the back where the runners could (if they were sneaky enough) smuggle the gear outside.
While in the midst of discussing the plan, the group noticed a drone place a brick onto one of the doors leading into the club, soon followed by a van of Halloweeners. Armed with a megaphone and a flamethrower, the boss of this particular group of Halloweeners began to make their way inside to cause chaos. Seeing this and knowing that civilians would face death, Huntress followed by Klom and Haruko made their way to intercept, leading into a shootout between two gangs and the runners.
The Run
With their plan never able to be fully discussed and combat breaking out, the Ancients and runners worked to end the Halloweener threat. E-Mad was able to incapacitate their decker/rigger, Haruko and her spirit thoroughly hampered the flamethro-weener's ability to act, and Huntress as well as the augmented human worked to knock him unconscious (or kill, if it came to it). In the midst of this, Getaway eliminated lesser threats using his roto-drone, with E-Mad's own roto-drone soon joining in. As the Halloweeners lay unconscious, dying, or dead, E-Mad then turned onto the Ancient and fired on them, resulting in another small skirmish before the human and his people had to pull out.
With sirens heard in the distance as well as a helicopter, the runners did what they could to grab as much of the gear as possible and make their way out. Unfortunately, they only managed to get half of the equipment, with the rest being left to Knight Errant to confiscate. Driving away quickly, Getaway was able to make a few turns and duck into an alleyway - just in time as the helicopter's lights barely missed the roadmaster. A few minutes later, he got them onto the road and played it casual, with no one the wiser.
Aftermath
From there, the group of runners distributed the gear amongst themselves, said a few farewells, and disappeared to their dark corners of the night.
