Overview
Lamashtu was a good-working lieutenant for Ghostwalker's retinue for years, keeping dissidents that opposed him imprisoned in a secure facility in Denver. These individuals were only those few lucky enough to be more valuable alive than dead despite their stances. Many curious experiments regarding spirits and metahumans were conducted on the inmates during this time and Lamashtu's merciless, draconian (no pun intended) rule in the facility gave her a notorious reputation among its occupants. Once she overstepped her boundaries and started looking into some of the inmates' history, however, she stumbled upon knowledge that should've remained hidden and lost her cushy position under the great dragon's wing.
Now, she's managed to get herself extracted into Seattle and seeks to either burrow deep into a bolthole, never to be seen again, or possibly find another dragon that isn't on such good terms with Ghostwalker to escape his ire. One thing is for sure: she's capable and incredibly intelligent in ways most metahumans can only imagine, and for the moment she's reduced to helping mere shadowrunners in order to make ends meet. She could easily climb a corporate ladder if she wasn't at risk of being found by her former master's minions at every turn, which restricts her greatly.
This proud drake hasn't shed her merciless, warhawk attitude despite having to lay low. She's hard to get to trust you, but is worth the effort in the end. Rule #1 of shadowrunning, however...
Notes For A GM
- Lamashtu is currently practicing a hermetic tradition due to lacking a dragon patron and feels a deep, instinctive guilt over leaving Ghostwalker. This can show up in rare cases as insecure behaviour.
- Values-wise, she's of the opinion that a good reputation can overcome most obstacles, even social stigmas such as what drakes and dragons have among shadowrunners. This means she'll help you if you help her in return.
- Consequently, she will always respect hard work and consistency over natural talent or strokes of luck.
- Strongly valuing language, she takes spoken word as contractually binding but is not stupid enough to expect others to feel the same and will often ask if those dealing with her understand the gravity of their words.
- Lamashtu desperately seeks a draconic patron and will most likely prefer someone that isn't quite so friendly with Ghostwalker. This is her primary goal on a conscious and instinctual level.
- Fully aware of the reputation of draconic critters among shadow communities, Lamashtu highlights the boons she can provide as a worthy tradeoff for the bad rep her associates may get.
Aspects Description
Aspect | Description |
---|---|
Any Means Necessary | Lamashtu is hellbent on surviving after betraying Ghostwalker. Roll Loyalty + Edge (1) if you contact her during a run for help. Failing the check means she has something to gain by working against you and will tip off any potential opfor of your involvement in order to gain further security herself. |
Hard To Approach | Upgrading Lamashtu's Loyalty costs twice as much. |
Highly Flammable | If your Loyalty with Lamashtu is 1 or 2, asking for her help during a run and not doing what she wants is likely to make her tip off the op-for or KE to curry favor from them instead. |
Security Expert | +2 on security-related matters: gear used by security forces, tactics, individuals, organizations. She has no legal sway with any organizations, however. |
Interrogator | +2 on getting information out of targets, one way or another. Usually takes 12-48 hours. |
Milspec Gear | +2 on acquiring restricted or forbidden items of various kinds. To be valuable is to extend one's lifespan. She knows how to persuade vendors. |
Tactical Gear | +2 on gear that isn't discreet whatsoever; large two-handed weapons, heavy armor, et cetera. |
Armor Accessories | +2 on armor mods and accessories. |
Weapon Accessories | +2 on weapon mods and accessories. |
Rigger Gear | +2 on checks involving rigger gear and tactics (she can't procure any kind of ware, however). As an ex-prison warden, she knows how to manage extensive camera and turret systems. |
Bravo Six, Going Dark | +2 on infiltrating set locations. This can be to reconnaissance objectives or to disable fringe alarm systems. |
Medical Expert | +2 on medicine, biotech and first aid related checks. She can also function as a doctor in life threatening situations, though she lacks the facilities for surgeries. |
Drill Instructor | Lamashtu is a capable teacher to those that can endure her merciless and agonizing training regimen. She teaches any skill in the Close Combat and Firearms categories as a Sensei. |
