Summary

N-51 is training and needs a hostile Opfor team to practice against. Runners fill that role.

Background

N-51 is on the rebound and needs to improve its tactics. A runner team has been hired to take part in battle maneuvers, playing the role of the defenders in a building assault scenario.

The Meet

The team gathered at a base facility operated by N-51 and met with the "Commander". The Commander described to the team that they were being brought in to take place in a non-lethal combat exercise. Less lethal rounds will be provided to the team and their assault squad would be using the same. The team is to be given 1 hour to secure their position within the building and repel the assaulting squad. N-51's team wins if they secure the building with minimal "casualties". The pay for this exercise will be provided in access to training mentors and gained experience in field situations. As costs were low the team readily agreed.

The Plan

The team discussed options and reviewed their skillset. Traps would be placed at various entry points, thermal smoke grenades, cameras, and flashbangs scattered around the first floor. La Rapide would hide in the lower floor while the rest of the team barricaded upstairs, dividing their team.

The Run

The general plan went off without a hitch. Throwback and La Rapide set flashbangs rigged to wireless detonation and tripwires and placed a number of thermal smoke bombs around the first floor to completely conceal movement. The entry team tripped 5 flashbangs and was caught within one wireless detonation. 0-K coated the entire stairwell in an ice sheet hoping to slow progress up the staircase to the 2nd floor while La Rapide became mist and hid amongst the smoke. Once the first 4 of their squad reached the 2nd floor Throwback and Chameleon engaged. Throwback loosed bursts of electric flechette while Chameleon set to paralyze them using nerve strikes and 0-K blasted with freezing magic. Simultaneously La Rapide reformed and began to attack the crew on the lower floor. Less than a minute later the N-51 team lay paralyzed or unconscious and the runners sustained barely a scratch.

Aftermath

The commander met with the team and congratulated them on their success, paying out with the offered training as promised. The team provided some basic tips and tricks as well as exposing some of their tactical flaws.

Throwback: "Poor N-51, they really need to get their tactics in order if they are going to recover their strength."

ChameleonDear Diary: Well my first foray into the seattle shadows was quite an experience. To start, I learned several important lessons. First, the shadows here have very dangerous people. Never bet against La Rapide, it just doesn't pay. I would like to know why she was putting on underwear in the middle of a firefight though...Always bring an extra sweater when working with Kelvin. He's a cool dude who gives a whole new meaning to the phrase 'stay frosty'. As for Throwback? Three words, full auto flechettes. I should thank him again for taking out that trooper coming up on my 6. Secondly, the shadows can be very lucrative. That N51 unarmed combat instructor is worth his weight in credsticks. Note to self, get more flash-bangs and a bigger gun
