Pick Policy
Priority will be given to:
- Archetypes, skills and character thematics that I will believe will result in a successful run, if I can't make a team from picks that I think will succeed I will reschedule.
- Players that have not run in a while, or are new to the server and fit into a successful team.
- Enabling a range of Shadowrun knowledge between experienced and inexperienced players so that players can learn and teach the system in an engaging setting.
Declining The Meet
- You can decline the meet or the job for in character reasons, however that would be a waste of time so please feel free to contact me on Discord/in your reddit post if you suspect there is a reason your character might do so.
- I may be willing to allow a character on a run to work against the interests of the Johnson, if the team are on board with it. I'm not going to arbitrate PVP unless it has been agreed upon OOCly and probably prior to the run.
Realism and Consistency
- I will attempt to keep stories consistent with Shadowrun and Shadowhaven canon, but I am willing to bend things in order to keep runs flowing smoothly. We can always come up with additional fluff to justify things later.
- I try to design opfor and systems in my runs as if it were the opfor designing them. If something you're investigating seems multilayered, with traps and misdirections built into it, then hopefully you will see it's not me attempting to be awkward and slow you down, it's how I envision a Machiavellian MegaCorp would design it.
- The world will respond to your actions how it is meant to in the books / per Shadowhaven rules, provided there are no caveats specific to that run that would change that.
Style
- I tend to give out objectives and let the players find their own ways to achieve them, I will have always planned one or two rough routes to achieve this and will have prepared for a few other eventualities. However how the run goes is entirely up to you. If I see you guys are getting a bit stuck I will drop some clues to get you going again.
- Unless the run is combat focused which I will state in the job post, I will rarely build guaranteed combat into a run. Most conflict can be avoided with good legwork or strategy, sometimes doing so will be the only safe option.
- All highlighted information that I give you in my runs has a purpose, there are no red herrings. If information seems like a red herring then it has likely been planted in your way by the OPFOR which is in itself, useful information. This does not mean you can't work yourself to a dead end, but I will try to help you avoid wasting too much time in that case. (An example of this: A Cat Meme I highlighted was a very major clue in Lucky Find. )
- The threat levels I post are generally based on the team working to avoid going loud and achieving their aims discreetly and efficiently. If you decide to ignore your own safety, the world will respond with a force that is appropriate to the security zone you are in regardless of posted threat level. I will let you know if you are about to do something that is very foolish, but I will still let you do it if that's what you want.
- I am big on character development, if you feel your character might have some personal stake in the run please feel free to contact me and I will be more than happy to work some personalised touches into a run to add another chapter to your character's story. This could include permanent effects as a consequence of your characters actions.
How to Get Free Edge From Me
- Attempt to execute creative plans
- Risky stunts
- Engaging roleplay
- Doing what your character would do, even if it's a bad idea.
