Overview
Asahiro Kunitoshi is rumored to be related to Sadato Shiawase himself. While the exact descendancy hasn't been made public, he himself doesn't confirm or deny it. Imperial Kami Services is a sibling division to Imperial Tech Services, so most of his time is spent in Japan, providing astral services to the Imperial State. As an individual Kunitoshi is honorbound, idealistic and traditional. Lending many influences from the daimyos of the Sengoku period in Japan's history, he would've been considered progressive at the time. In the Sixth World, however, he's extremely conservative, openly despising blind consumerism and materialism. He looks down on corporate culture for the most part, instead taking devout Shintoism and patriotism to heart. He has several relics of Japanese history in his possession and as a physical adept of greater than average skill, respects those who walk the way of the warrior with a code of honor. While he is a capable businessman, he views it as little more than a necessary evil to indulge in to accomplish his goals. Within the corporation, his stances are almost scandalous and while he conforms to the core ideal of 'improving life' his almost feudalist, traditionalist stances make him the opposition for many in Shiawase's internal political struggles. One thing is certain: Kunitoshi is a man born in the wrong time. He'd have been a fantastic shogun in the distant past, both steel-willed and relatively caring for those under his rule, yet ruthless towards his enemies.
He's not above employing mercenary work to accomplish more extralegal goals, however, as his high standing limits his flexibility in official capacity. To this matter, it's not surprising that he may employ shadowrunners here or there.
Aspects Description
Aspect | Description |

For The Corporation | Asahiro will not aid you with anything that he doesn't see benefiting the corporation. If he sends you to do a job, it's because he has a stake in it going in a particular direction. He approves of putting down crime, striking against other corporations or furthering Shiawase's influence, but disapproves of anything that risks his standing, deals with malign, unnatural forces, has no direct use for Shiawase or to himself. |
Shiawase Only | +2 on acquiring anything Shiawase-made. |
Blademaster | +2 on bladed melee weapons. This includes implanted cyberware weapons if they're made for slashing. |
Vashionable | +2 on providing Vashon Island armor and armor modifications specifically to Vashon Island products. |
Kami Blessings | +2 on providing anything magical aspected towards the Shinto tradition. |
Authorization | +2 on providing Restricted level gear. He will require you to have a license for it, however. |
Spywork | +2 on providing rumors of any of the AAA megacorporations or their subsidiaries. |
Scholar | +2 on information about astral matters, both pragmatic and academic. |
