Summary

Michaela Haufer, nicknamed Mickey, takes no shit and gives no fucks about how things get done. It's an understatement to say she's old school. No 'Ware, no spells, just the heat of the flamer she wields. She's always on the hunt for cash. And Shadowrunning is filled with Nuyen.

Background

Michaela was born and raised in Chicago, and spent her adult life in college learning all kinds of engineering, biology and chemistry. Her plan initially was to work for Ares as a design engineer and was on the fast tract to it before aliens burst from the ground and killed her dreams. Before she knew it her and over 100 thousand people were trapped in the Corridor with bugs for three years. In those three years she learned faster than she ever had before. It was a matter of survival now- her engineering knowledge kept her alive as she used what she knew to protect herself and construct the weapons she needed to survive the Corridor. For three hellish years she fought tooth and nail to live against bugs and gangers. The only thing that could make it worse... Was the ghouls. She got caught by a Loup-garou, and learned the valuable lesson of setting infected on fire. She figured she was going to turn into one of them, but after agonizing for months she never went under.

She figured it was a no-brainer everyone got the hell out of there as fast as they could the moment the containment was lifted. She did just the same, fled as far as she could get from Chicago. She just wanted to live life normally. Being clear of the infection she thought she was in the clear. She continued her education as best she could, but found it hard to get a job or classes after a co-worker suddenly started turning into a loup-de-whatever after a one night stand.

She had lived her life on the road after that. Eventually she made it back to her hometown and slummed it while finding anything she could to keep learning about engineering. Eventually ended up learning a lot about the spirits that destroyed her home and the infected that ruined her life. She grew a great vendetta against them both.

As she got older, she grew more tired of the shitty lifestyle she had been living for so long. She wanted to live comfortably, have people take care of her. She took what she knew and built herself gear to run the shadows with.
