Summary
The runners are paid one thousand nuyen to contact a local Finnigan Family caporegime making vague threats against the community theatre. They are paid upfront and told to report back his demands. Working their way up the mob hierarchy, the soldato's running the casino and brothel have demands of their own. Rocco Caruso wants a spot in the community theatre play for one of his top prostitutes. Salvatore Marino wants the runners to destroy an online casino with small brothel being setup by the Yellow Lotus Triad. He's also willing to pay twenty thousand nuyen but wants the triads humiliated not killed. Once the soldato's are on board the runners meet Francesco di Gangi. He wants his sister Maria di Gangi hired as vocal director. Negotiations with Naomi Fisk solves two demands. After extensive surveillance, the runners formulate a plan for the triads and successfully execute it.
Background
A group of theatrical insiders with access to some funding have set about organizing community theatre groups in Redmond and the Ork Underground. Their efforts have been successfull enough to attract the attention of the Finnigan Family
The Meet
Katherine Davis has set the meet for noon at the The Stage Door Deli. He^rt arranges for Thunder to pick up their anthrodrone and they meet Nearl at the deli at the appointed time. Ms. Johnson is favorably disposed towards Thunder having worked with him previously ands pays the runners the full thousand nuyen upfront to get in contact with the capo.
The Plan
Talk to the soldatos and gain their support. Talk to the capo and find out his demands. Report back to Ms. Johnson
The brothel
After some quick legwork (matrix searchs and talking to Der Opa about fine wines) while driving to Redmond they set off for Maison du Soleil Levant to meet with Rocco Caruso. Rocco knows what his boss has in mind and adds his own ask: One of his favorites, Mustang Sally, wants a spot in the play. Make it happen. The runners agree to make it happen and gain Rocco's support.
The Casino
Quickly traversing the 20 meters to the Lucky Day Casino the runners meet the Fratelli brothers at the door for a security scan. The soldato in charge of the Casino, Salvatore Marino, knows about the play and doesn't give a flying frag. He's more concerned with an online casino and small brothel being constructed by the Yellow Lotus Triad on the edge of Touristville. He wants the equipment in the building destroyed, the triads humiliated but not killed, and clues incriminating the Choson Ring. He offers twenty thousand nuyen each for the job. With some real money finally on the table, the runners agree. Now that light can be seen at the end of the tunnel only one thing to do ... PARTY! Hookers, Blow, and some strip poker in the 24/7 poker game run by a trio of gnomes. Two hours and an obscene amount of money later the big loser was He^rt's who had to strip down to the chrome.
The Capo
Francesco di Gangi having recieved reports of the strip poker game greets the runners quite warmly. He explains that his darling sister Maria di Gangi is ready to retire from the Seattle Opera Company. He wants her to get a suitable job at the Redmond Amateur Theatrical Society. And, of course, his sister can't know that he had anything to do with it. He then gives the runners a commlink code so that they can contact him when everything has been arranged. After a quick call to Ms. Johnson they set off to the Goldhammer Circus to meet with Naomi Fisk.
The director
When the runners arrive at the circus, they find Ms. Johnson conversing with Naomi. Naomi is cool towards the runners; Thunder already owes her a favor from a previous run and now a new batch of runners asking favors shows up. The runners start with a small ask: a bit part for Mustang Sally. When Naomi hears the Sally is a prostitute her demeanor changes immediately. She immediately agrees. When the runners bring up a job for Maria, both Katherine and Naomi chuckle. Had they known that she was interested in retiring she would've been a top choice for vocal director. With the tough stuff out of the way the runners turned to the money portion of the run...trashing triads.
The Second Plan
Round the clock visual, electronic, and magical surveillance to determine which triads are where and when. Determine technical and magical security measures.
Time: 02:00 so no construction workers around. Alpha strike on watcher & spirit of fire above the building. Sniper rifle on vehicle takes out satlink on roof. ECM to jam cellular signals. Anthrodrone goes on roof to drop CS grenades in HVAC vent on to drive occupants out of warded interior. Nearl, Thunder, and huge combat drone outside to greet the fleeing triads.
The Run
Success although the shear scale of combatants involved meant that the combat went on for a full 12 seconds.
Aftermath
The mobsters are happy, Ms. Johnson, Maria di Gangi, and Mustang Sally are happy. Naomi is owed 2 favors from Thunder and knows just what she needs done...
