Background

Gaman Brouwn was born and raised in a small town south of Seattle. In his early years nothing much happened, but then he once woke up and saw weird things he only had heard off. Auras, spirits and the beauty of the astral space. Fascinated by that he started experimenting. He discovered that he could leave his body and be free from all physical restrains. At first to his disappointing he wasn't able to cast any spells, summon spirits or enhance his body. He wanted to see more of that world, so he studied the astral realm both as a job and as a hobby at University of Washington, eventually becomming ThD of Astral Studies. In the 50s he participated in the study of mana storms in the Sahara. Through a chain of unfortunate events he got caught by the storm and experienced the effects a heavy manabolt on his own body. One of his friends and colleges had to cast a healing spell on the spot. The spell changed its effect and rapidly aged the elf. He survived that night just barely and carries the marks of it to this day. His hair has turned light grey, and he has some wrinkles. His physical shape has worsened considerably, but the mind remained sharp. After he recovered a bit from the shock he moved to Snohomish and changed subject he now studies the nature of spirits. In his quest for more and more knowledge he reached out and found tomes who are not to be tampered with. From those tomes he also learned his way of doing rituals. A thing that he previously thought be imposible to him. The tomes gave hints to deep knowledge into the enteties that are commonly refered to as spirits. He digs further into this and without noticing it he addopts the Tradition of The Old Ones. Now he doesn't contribute anymore all of his insights to the reaserch at Washington University, cause he doesn't regards all of his sources as save for the uninitiated.

One day he stumbled into a aztech ritual on the search for old ruins in the atzlanian jungle. After witnessing three human sacrifices he had to step in. Trying to overwhelm the ritual leader with his limited knowledge of astral combat turned to be a rather dumb idea. He nearly got killed by the guards and bloodspirits, but managed to flee in time. He was very unshure how much Aztech knows aboud him, until he barely survived the bloodspirit that was send after him. From that day on he layed low. Had to quit his job. Now doing the reasearch compleatly on his own and without supervisors, He deams less and less of his findings save to share. But he still contributed to the research at Washington University, be it through a good friend(the one that healed him). Soon he had to realize that life is expensive and without a job rather tough to pay for. So he searched and found. Low level jobs that weren't so legal. He soon realized that there is good money to make and expanded into another field of expertise, social stuff how he calls it. After five years of smaller jobs he now wants to do larger jobs, so he can focus more on his reasearch, rather than surviving. That is the point at wich he joins the Haven.
