Summary

A lazy mage looking for something to do with her life decides the best way to get out of her mom's house is to run the shadows. With some military training and a lot of convenience magic she takes her skills in alchemy and combat to make cash.

Background

Emily was born in 2062 to a single mother. Her father died in a car accident before she was born,, which she doesn't like talking about much. Despite being bright, she only ever put enough effort in to pass high school with the exact minimum to graduate. She then proceeded to lounge about the house for a year playing matrix games and  before her mother finally had enough and threatened to kick her out if she didn't get a job. After flunking out of an apprenticeship for becoming a spider, she took her chances with joining the Military. She went through her screenings without problem and was shipped off to boot. Due to Emily's unwillingness to exercise prior to the military, she wasn't very fit. Knowing she wouldn't have a home to go back to if she failed due to her failure in her apprenticeship, Despite her begin woefully unprepared, she couldn't give up. Facing extreme exhaustion, she was certain she was going to die. But then, she awakens.

In an explosion of magic, Emily found herself floating. After it being found that she's a full fledged magician, her boot was changed to that of mages, which was much easier physically. Her magic developed quickly, and soon she was placed among the 13th Magical Infantry Division. Her job in her unit was that of combat support and being a medic. She performed her job well, enough to be even considered for special forces- but was disregarded due to her blatant insubordination, and shirking her punishments along with being extremely lazy, skipping non-deployment work.

It wasn't long before Emily was kicked out once more, and sent back home in Seattle. Back on her mother's couch without a job, she uses a contact she made from matrix games online to get into the Haven.

Narrative Significant Qualities

Common Sense - Skylark has a mind for things that should and shouldn't be done to avoid trouble. Usually, it's much more work that it's worth.

Big Baby - Anything requiring getting too fragged up probably isn't worth it.

Lack of Focus - Putting too much effort into things isn't Sky's style. She's likely to get bored before she finishes most things.
