As the Loa beckoned Mac found himself at odds with not only the zobop and blood magician presence along the gulf coast, he struggled to fit in with his own tradition, leaning more towards younger and more modern loa than traditionalists tended to serve. Eventually he hit the road to California where he failed to gain Horizon's attention and washed up north to the Emerald City to build a life for himself where he blends in as well as all the other freaks.
