Sasha was born to a Russian father and Japanese mother. She spent most of her childhood in Japan and later moved to Seattle Free City with her family.
Her parents were poor, SINless, and owed a large sum of money to loan sharks. They were unable to pay the debt, and eventually the collectors came knocking. Sasha knew what fate awaited the three of them. Her parents tried futilely to protect her as they were beaten into submission. In the face of impending tragedy, Sasha Awakened, and was barely able to fight off the collectors with her newfound magic. Battered and bloodied, Sasha and her parents stowed away on a ship to the SFC soon afterward. Sasha has been working as a shadowrunner since, and was able to get her parents off the streets using the money she earned.
