Summary
A babysitting job turned into a Kansas City Shuffle and frame job in the blink of an eye.
Background
Ace Powers, having backed off the Or'zet Underground festival has low level A&R agents coming through to sign the existing talent for Horizon contracts. This particular A&R is a handfull, not well liked, and a sacrificial lamb for the powers that be.
The Meet
The Team met Elmo in his office where he unceremoniously explained the A&R Rep needed some babying and being shown around the emerald city by some real runners would probably solve have the problem. Get him loaded, show him a seattle good time, and go from there. More or less.
Elmo broke out some Nova and Invictus took part. Haggling another 6K and some gear rewards out of him, as well as a potential bonus, and away they went.
The Plan
This was three faces in full motion, the plan in general was...varied and sometimes more of a vibe.
The Run
The team pulled back from overthinking and sent in the Goat alone with a ARO to pick up the target from the Horizon terminals at Sea-Tac.
They met up a Touristville nightclub but the target was unconvinced and unsatisfied, instead asking for some drugs that Invictus had already arranged in a fateful call to Ace Powers. It nearly boiled over until the team got some Novacoke into the target and calmed his nerves, getting him to a lab to get his own stash of designer.
Going over to Auburn to a Yakuza controlled crime office put them in contact with a candyman who created a brick of designer novacoke for the target.
Meanwhile Azazel calls Red to arrange a girl for the guy if needed.
Once the mark had his novacoke order place and diagnostics in, he wanted to get on to work, so the team had to hit a whole other wave of checkpoints and head on to Bellevue where they had worked out that an entrance to the underground for the hotel was located.
They Initiated contact with The Grey, and paid 2K to get safe passage and a tunnel guide to drive in the long way to the hotel.
While the mark was handling his business and meeting with clients, Ace and elmo called. Ace wanting the guy tested as a body double and elmo wanting him outright arrested on something minor and held for the weekend.
Azael made contact with Madame Butterfly and the team greased the wheels for admission to her club and a litle publicity at her door. Dressing the client up like Ace Powers to get him into butterfly effect.
Invictus nudged him with Influence a few times to cut loose way past the point he usually does. Some pictures tying Ace to the club got released through Butterflies contacts, creating the cover he needed before the mark was nudged far harder and spend the majority of the credstick budget on a host of dancers for a champagne room. Invictus dipped, getting pegged by the awakened doorman as the spellcaster everyone had felt inside, while the client raged on for about 8 more minutes total.
Shortly after the group cleared the place the mark was thrown out on the street covered in Novacoke and with the Pawns alerted to the sight on a city street in bellevue still early in the evening, leading to the arrest of the obviously an elf-obviously-not-ace-powers when the dust settled horizon news story and a successful payout from Elmo.
Aftermath
Jonathan spent 2 days in jail getting his license for bulk novacoke worked out and ensuring he was not a distributor, just an enthusiast. He will likely never be allowed to return to the emerald city but goes back to L.A. a legend.
Ace Powers was supposedly sighted at a high end gentleman's club raising absolute hell.
Invictus is banned from the Butterfly Effect gentleman's club who have absolutely clocked his sig.
