Summary

Newt in a small amphibian surge, with slimy green skin and a pair of long frog legs. She has scraggly black hair and three slit eyes, one in the center of her forehead. She wears the grime-streaked gear of an urban explorer, and practically hums with paranoid energy. Originally a hobgoblin, her mutations forced her out of her home and into the lowest reaches of the Orcish Underground. She's spent most of her life as a scavenger, using her magic and mutations to eke out a living in Seattle's sewers. A talented psychometrist and follower of Raven, she believes herself to be a conduit for the spirits trapped in the waste. Every piece of junk has a story to tell, and their souls are desperate to be listened to. One such story, a vision of murder received from a rusted claw hammer, sparked an obsession to learn more that drove her into shadowrunning; The story is incomplete, and the victim's soul can't rest until the whole thing is heard.

Background

The tenuous peace in Newt's life was broken during a scrapping expedition when she received a vision from a rusted claw hammer. It was of a high rise apartment, nicer than she had ever seen, and the brutal murder of a dwarf with violet eyes. The dwarf watched her killer silently, unblinking even as the hammer fell, and right before the metal met bone Newt had a realization. Those eyes were looking at her. They pierced through the astral and bored into Newt, perceiving every fiber of her being. Their gaze met hers with a single, overriding request: find them, and finish their story.

One such piece of trash, a rusted claw hammer at the bottom of an abandoned dump, gave her the most intense vision of her life. It was a murder weapon, and as she watched the scene play out the victim looked at her. She wasn't just seeing her murderer, she wasn't even looking at anyone who might be watching. She was looking at Newt, and calling for her to find them.

She is a talented scout and ruthless survivalist, held back by her paranoia and social skills. She's constantly on the hunt for new things to use her psychometry on, believing that she exists as a witness for the spirits trapped in the objects. Her magic is tuned for stealth and investigation, and although she can hold her own she falls apart quickly in direct confrontations. Even if all else fails, though, you don't need that much skill to fire a shotgun.
