Summary
Aspected summoner made to summon the crap out of anything she wants, but only one at a time.
Goals
Solve this blasted problem with MCT, get enough money to stabilize my family, then maybe go home?
Background
Back home in Japan, the Koyoyama family has a their ancestral home high up in the mountains of Miyazaki. The family lived in peace, spirits coming and going. Anna trained as a summoner, as had every female in the direct lineage of her family, to access the world beyond. She was taught both with and without her beads to call upon the spirits of those who had passed before her and entered true forms of the spirit world.
All good things must come to an end and this one ended suddenly in the form of a visitor. A man in a finely pressed suit knocked on the door to their ancestral home. He spoke in long and confusing English but they eventually got his point. He'd come to claim their land as part of a cooperation by the name of Aztechnology. The family refused and they entered a tense standoff with the corp. Anna took to learning English to better understand the people trying to take their home. But to her, this wasn't enough, she needed to take action to combat this. She reached out to Smith, asking him for help and he told her of Seattle and the lives of Shadowrunners. So she was left with three options. To work legally she'd either have to enter a contract, and any corp who could get their hands on a magician would never let them go. To freelance, but she saw that as a very limited option and not as profitable as other options could be and setting up would take more money than she had. Or to enter the shadows, where work was plentiful, risky, and rewarding. She took the final option and left for America. Taking the name passed down from mother to daughter in her family, she began working as a runner, sending money back to help her family and hopefully return one day.
Since then MCT has bought out Aztech's claims and is now working to get rights to her family's property
Narrative Significant Qualities
- Chain Breaker+Dedicated Conjurer+Spirit Whisperer= Itako is very in tune with the spirits and gets rather upset when people talk about them as lesser beings. It also means they tend to like her better by default.
- Astral Beacon: She doesn't know it but she absolutely lights up on the astral.
- Dependent (Demanding): Her family's constant legal battle needs funding while she works to resolve it.
- Motion Sickness: Living on the top of a mountain for most of your life doesn't leave you with the toughest of stomachs.
- SINner (National) (Japan): Gotta keep the legal SIN if you wanna go home some day right?
- Reduced Sense (Sight): Itako is missing an eye. As part of a scar that goes from her left forehead all the way down to her right hip, one of her eyes was damaged beyond repair. It's been replaced by a realistic looking glass one but if you look closely, only one eye follows you as you move.
