Esper is a psionic mental manipulator who specializes in social infiltration.

===Summary===
==Alignment==
Jezebel is a physical adept face who's not too bad with a handgun.

===Alignment===
===Moral===
Black Trenchcoat: Jezebel doesn't really care about what jobs she takes, as long as the money is good. She has limits, but they're currently unclear. Her tactical disposition is a preference for subterfuge.
Esper realizes how close she came to doing Evo's dirty work and wonders how much they tricked her into helping them during her "training." Now free, she refuses to take jobs that would hurt innocent people. She is especially interested in hooding, though corp-vs-corp can be acceptable so long as it doesn't involve stepping on the little people. She is not opposed to wetwork if it meets these requirements. Should a GM OOCly agree to it, Esper may take a run that violates these requirements in order to sabotage it.

===Goals===
===Tactical===
Esper tries to get the job done quietly. She is primarily a modest social infiltrator. Despite this, she has a few tricks up her sleeve; in fights, she tries to remain a low-priority target and manipulate the enemy into compromising positions for team mates to take out.

*Earn money for her family.
==Goals==
*Get in good with the Mafia (as much as this is possible for her)

*Evade capture by Evo.
*Smooth out her reputation in the shadow community.

==Background==
==Background==
Jezebel was born to a family of immigrants from the Italian Confederation who lived in Brooklyn. Brooklyn is a primarily Italian-American slum in the New York City sprawl, and contrary to popular belief, it's not Mafia-controlled. However, that didn't stop her from eventually finding herself in contact with with the Ciarniello Family, with whom she now has a basic business relationship. Traditionalist as the Ciarniellos are, they don't mind elves; Jezebel often faces sexist remarks, however, which is where her runner name comes from.
Born a Yamatetsu citizen, Esper was identified early on as possessing an exceptional capacity for mental manipulation. Through various "incentives" (AKA veiled threats, carrot and stick, the usual corp stuff), she was pressured into a training program where her psychic powers were developed. She began to see the new Evo's dark side the more this training progressed. She knew too much, so she would have to make an escape instead of backing out. It took years to put the pieces into place, but a series of contacts, mysteriously helpful corp employees, and various other unwitting accomplices eventually laid the framework for a sudden escape that no one could remember clearly. Her fixer helped arrange this escape, and today she lives in Redmond. She wishes to use her powers for good, but worries she isn't ready to face Evo again yet.

Jezebel's family are mostly wageslaves who want to earn an honest living. Where Jezebel differs is she doesn't believe the world is fair enough to reward honest work, and so she shouldn't play fair either. She periodically sends money home to her family, though they're not so strapped for cash they're dependent on her. Whether she succumbs to the vices of the criminal underworld or manages to turn a profit remains to be seen.

While Jezebel is a physical adept, her experiences with awakening and magical phenomena have largely been rationalized as a combination of psychological abnormalities, good confidence and hard work. Perhaps on some subconscious level she doesn't want to be awakened or doesn't believe she can be. Time will tell how her self-delusion keeps up.

==Narrative Significant Qualities==
==Narrative Significant Qualities==

*'''Spirit Mentor: Seductress''': Jezebel follows the way of Seductress, primarily focused on the manipulation of others through appearance and confidence rather than literal seduction (though that remains an option). Given her delusions of mundaneness, she rationalizes the influence of Seductress as being an internal monologue or, if visions of some sort come up, vivid hallucination. It also doesn't help that Seductress makes her more prone to give in to vices and temptations when she's involved with the criminal underworld.
*'''Astral Chameleon''': Esper's psychic presence is subtle, hard to notice even for the aware.
*'''Social Appearance Anxiety (2)''': Because Jezebel's ability to perform hinges on her confidence, she has to look her best. When she isn't looking good, her confidence falters, and she doesn't perform as well as she should socially.
*'''Bad Rep''': Esper's psychic powers make her feared and hated by the shadow community. Those who have a distaste for mental manipulation will give her a wide berth or a piece of their mind, but even those who approve of mind magic dislike that she is of the psionic tradition. In addition, people know that Evo is nipping at her heels, and a lot of runners don't want that heat.
*'''Alibi''': In order to have her cons believed, Jezebel has a bunch of stuff ready to go. Fake planners, contact lists, commcodes, et cetera. She plans to expand on this with disguises.
*'''Common Sense''': Experienced in working with people, Esper has developed common sense to know how she ought to approach a variety of situations.
*'''Method Actor''': The most convincing deceiver is the one who deceives themself. This is especially true for a psychic, from whose mind all their power flows.
*'''Records On File (Evo Corporation)''': Esper's escape didn't involve the erasure of her records from Evo's database. This is an advantage they have over her in their ongoing pursuit.
*'''Social Appearance Anxiety 3''': Power comes from the mind, so being confident is important. When Esper doesn't look good, her confidence falters.
*'''Wanted (Evo Corporation)''': Evo doesn't know exactly how Esper disappeared or where she went, but it wants her back and is willing to pay 25,000¥ for that to happen.
