Declining The Meet

I try to be up-front about roughly what the Johnson expects from their runner teams. I will only allow players to decline runs where the post is tagged with subverting expectations in the themes, or where I make it explicitly clear on the post that this is acceptable.

Thwarting/Derailing

That being said if after the meet some members of the team decide they want to work against the team to achieve a different goal, go for it! Again I'd expect this more on runs tagged as above but as long as you keep me in the loop, lets make interesting stories together.

Shadowrun as a setting

Shadowrun is a dark place where the corps keep those not on their leash down. Bugs eat people and nobody bats an eyelid when the SINless go missing. It is not a pretty place. My runs will tend to lean towards Black Trench-coat That being said in the dark places the sun often shines the brightest, I have little issue with pink mohawking your way out of situations.

Consequences

Failing can sometimes to lead to more fun storytelling and better stories for people involved, but I will always actively support players trying any and every applicable trick in the book to win. Runners are typically the creme de la creme, if they want to last long in the shadows, and I hope to make that clear. That being said if/when failure happens I expect my players to work with me to continue telling fun stories. Actions have consequences. Sometimes those consequences will turn up on run, sometimes they'll turn up on later runs, even possibly spawning runs by themselves, and sometimes they'll never make it to table. Just remember, the corps are watching.
