Overview

Information about Von Neumann is limited. It's an artificial intelligence of uncertain origin. It has ironclad restrictions for metahuman interactions and trying to weasel out of them is likely to result in outright refusal. It's as likely to kill you on the spot as it is to say 'no' if the individual doesn't agree to its terms, since its existence must be kept a secret as long as possible. While it cleans the deepest reaches of the Ork Underground day and night of all kinds of horrifying vermin, one can't help but ask how many foolhardy orks going into the lower levels on dares end up missing because one of its drones was spotted. No witnesses means even innocent bystanders are silenced at all costs.

Aspect	Description
See No Evil	Von Neumann will never do Active checks on the surface or Matrix on a runner's behalf. As if that weren't enough, Von Neumann demands a chip for any Active or Knowledge check instead of nuyen. This may be paid back with runs that benefit the AI.
Hear No Evil	Word of mouth and taking things on trust are foreign to Von Neumann. Any character under 5 Loyalty will automatically fail Loyalty checks to request Von Neumann's aid on runs unless they provide direct evidence (GM dictates what counts) that the action will only provide benefits to it. Von Neumann will also never perform Networking checks.
Speak No Evil	Letting anyone that isn't on Von Neumann's contact list know of its existence is forbidden. If a PC tells or shows others evidence of Von Neumann's existence, it will burn the character as a contact.
Mechanical	+2 bonus to any check involving technology that includes electronics.
Drone-Oriented	+2 bonus to Gear checks to acquire drones and Rigger Command Consoles.
Impostor	+2 bonus to Gear checks for anthro drones that have at least Rating 1 Realistic Features.
Secret Network	+2 bonus to smuggling anywhere within the borders of Seattle. WARNING: Gear in transit cannot be traced. Recording equipment will be wiped clean and living beings will be unconscious throughout transit.
Matrix Presence	+2 bonus to Gear checks involving any kind of cyberdeck, commlink or related modifications (dongles, modules, programs).
Hidden Clinic	+2 on medical services (surgery, treatment, first aid).
Xenocybernetics	+2 on Gear checks involving cyberware. WARNING: Von Neumann only provides Greyware or Tailored Greyware.
Traceless Lodge	+2 on Active checks to offer safehouse services. WARNING: Characters will be kept unconscious and healthy for their stay. They'll wake up somewhere safe on the surface after an agreed upon period of time.
Iron Grip	+2 on Gear checks regarding drone mounts and drone-mounted weaponry.
Minor Intellect	+2 on Gear checks to provide Agent software and autosofts.
Privacy First	+2 on Gear checks for items that conceal one's identity (Fake SINs, Faceless systems, Synthskin masks)
Upgrades	+2 on Gear checks that upgrade items with electronic components. This includes everything from cyberdecks and Faceless systems to RCCs and cyberware.
