Background

A failed second-generation Matrix soldier, Janet Cairo (who was later known to be Al-Ahmar or 'the Red King' on the Matrix Grids) lost her future of wealth and action to her twin project, one more tailored to accept both biological and cybernetic enhancements. She was considered the less likely candidate from the get-go, but after the UCAS military decided to spend plenty of their annual budget on testing bioware and cyberware efficiency, they found that a hybrid of the two was far more efficient. As a result, the 'pure' projects were given meager government pensions and left to the wayside.

While her IQ ranked at nearly 200, it was deemed that the likes of Janet weren't a success for the program since her raw brainpower alone wouldn't make her a successful Matrix specialist. Let go and given a meager, barely functional pension, Janet didn't end up integrating into society, turning into a recluse. The SIN she had was useful for the pension, but that was about it. Since then Janet's made a living doing little hacking for gangs, learning the ins and outs of the various factions and staying out of their way as much as she can, but she knows it's technically below her pay grade. What she truly wants is revenge on her sibling prototype for stealing her limelight -- she wants to prove that she can be better than that snotty little piece of drek.

Significant Things for Narrative

  • Prototype - With an extremely developed frontal lobe and cerebral centers as well as a natural MCT-patented DNI growth, Janet's a natural born decker. That wasn't enough to keep her from being discarded as a failure, and as a result she suffers from an allergy to soy products which she bought a genetic treatment for. Not that it helps her that much.
  • Code of Honor - Janet's not really that much of a killer. She doesn't feel like it's right to take people's lives from shadows, nor does she approve of hurting bystanders. Collateral is something she despises and she's not going to sneak attack even mortal enemies -- at least not lethally. Knockouts are more merciful.

Matrix Search Table

Threshold Result
1 Abu Mihriz (Father of the Attainer) or al-Ahmar (The Red One) is the lord of the red planet, Mars, the color red, the metal copper and is monitored by the angel Samael. He is one of the leaders of prince Morrah son of Iblis' army.
3 The Sabians of Harran call Al-Ahmar blind because of his extreme violence and because in his rage he strikes without regard. Interestingly the angel responsible of Al-Ahmar, Samael, is also known as the "Blind One", whose duty is probably to seal the hearts of those who disbelieve.
6 Al-Ahmar is also a nickname used by a street hacker going by the title of the Scarlet King. Their persona is noted to be that of an eldritch horror, red throughout, horned and eyeless with countless tentacles.

Shadow Community Table

Threshold Result
1 Minor decker from Ft. Lewis. No great accomplishments.
3 Has a highly rated, near-military grade agent on their cyberdeck.
5 Lives somewhere near Route 161 and seems to have a disdain for chrome. Notorious for being bad at fighting, almost got a team killed for freezing up during an ambush.

Assensing Table

Threshold Description
1 Mundane.
2 No astral signatures or cyberware.
3 Healthy, but relatively lowered Essence count.
4 Severe augmentations to brain matter and other neural receptors across the body. 4.1 Essence.
5 Several modifications are performed on a genetic level. The cerebral boosters and biolink are genetically inherent to her DNA.
