Background Born blind, as a young man Cole Powell became fascinated by animals. He often boasted that he was going to be a zookeeper when he grew up, believing that cybereyes would cure his blindness when he was old enough to have them. Rat would be allowed to scavenge food from him, and he would help. Life in the wilderness was hard, and sometimes he found he needed a little extra help to avoid starvation or death from exposure.
