Players may unretire a character if the slot they occupied hasn't been filled by another character. A short statement about the character's return is encouraged but optional. Examples for unretiring a character:
* If you have 3 standard slots and 2 characters, you can unretire character 2 as long as you haven’t approved a 3rd 4th active character.
* If you retire one of your 3 filled slots and submit a new character, you can't unretire the first retired character even if you gain new slots or retire one of your other characters.
* Prime characters follow these same rules but only use and are affected by prime character slots.
* * The system was designed to prevent players from abusing the character slot limit.
 
However, an addendum to these rules have been made to add a leniency in case of mistakes:
* Once per year, you may unretire any past PC that was not forcibly retired, if an appropriate slot is available (standard or prime).
* If rules have changed since then, they must be adjusted appropriately to be gameplay legal. For minor adjustments, open a Council ticket.
* Please reduce any real world based timers to remove the time the character was retired. These clocks increment for only active characters.
