Character Information
Summary
Kate is a former CAS Navy SEAL. She came from a military family. She is proud, but feels like she lives in her father's shadow. She left South Carolina soon after her discharge to make her own name in the world.
Her service career was exemplary, but her father was an Admiral and he often overshadows her.
Kate specialized in tactical insertions, amphibious ops, diving and underwater demolitions. Her marksmanship skills are limited to assault rifles and below.
She once got to participate in a PR exchange program where she and 11 others went to Moscow for 3 months. She learned new fighting styles from the Red Army, and picked up her specialized martial arts skills there.
When she was 29, she became infected with HMHVV III. Her team boarded a vessel that had gone dark off the coast of Virginia. Turns out everyone onboard was a ghoul. Out of 8 SEALS that went in, 2 came out. Her PO1, who was fine, and Kate, who had been exposed. She fought off the infection but became a carrier. It made her sort of a pariah, but allowed her to become more specialized, being able to fight those infected with the Krieger Strain without the risk of consequence.
Goals
Kate wants to move on from the Navy and establish her career for her life. She wants to one day run her own shipyard, but realizes that is a lofty goal.
She seeks to find more people to expand her social circle. Her experience in the military makes it hard, and she thinks that she'll find people easier on the Shadowhaven.
Always she seeks to improve her skills. She left the Military behind, but wants to work as a contractor. Shadowhaven is becoming her way into that life.
Background
Kate was born in Charleston, South Carolina. Her father was an Admiral in the CAS Navy and former Captain of an SSVN, and her mother served in the CAS Airforce. Kate joined the CAS Navy when she was 17. Initially, she signed up as a Navy Diver, but her high aptitude and technical skills opened up more dangerous jobs. She volunteered for the SEALs when she was 19, completing training a year later.
She had a long and prestigious career in the Navy. She achieved the rank of CPO, retiring after 20 years of service.
She moved to Seattle after this to work as a civilian contactor. A friend who moved there said she might find work. Initially she thought to contract to the UCAS Navy, but found them annoying to work for. Plus they didn't seem to like her due to her previous employment in the CAS Navy.
She soon discovered the life of Shadowrunning to supplement her income. Plus she wanted the excitement since civilian life is so boring.

Kate is a tall, fit former CAS Navy SEAL. She typically wears a black and grey knee length armor jacket with a Cavalier Evanator at her side in a concealed holster.
She bears numerous small scars from her service, but one stands out. A jagged claw scar extends from the base of her neck to her shoulder. This is where a ghoul grabbed her and cut along the top plate of her armor through the Kevlar. It healed, but left a very prominent scar. This can be seen if she wears a t-shirt. It can just barely be seen over the collar of an armored jacket or dress coat.
